I'm really eager to get some ponies in theaters (at the very least, the midnight crowd would be solid), but this... this seems sketchy.

The onl possible rationality(if that's what we'll call it) that some of us have been able to come up with is that someone in Hasbro wanted to make something with the G4 cast geared at young girls. Weird, right?

I know I shouldn't judge before watching, but GOD those designs are terrible.

I couldn't agree more, but all must remember that this show was based for little girls, and following with the movie, it promotes the little girl aspect (henceforth the colorful skirts and boots).

All in all, I would see this just once to say I've seen it.

Eh, I don't really consider "it's for little girls" to be an excuse. I mean, FiM was meant for little girls, yet it's still a good show even by those standards.

I'll still watch it. I've got this strong feeling it will either be god awful, but more likely good just way outta my demographic.

I'm gonna try to watch it with the local meetup group. Good or bad, it will be a unique experience and something tells me it'll be hilarious to see the reactions in the theater when this big group of adults shows up to watch it.

...:s I don't know, I don't think I like this. A movie's a big thing that gets advertised to everyone everywhere, unless it's a limited release. TV shows just get out to you if you happen to be on related channels at the right times, kinda. Both get internet ads, but there's this notion that if there's a movie of something, it must be significant in some way. Pony isn't too significant.

Okay, why is everyone panicking over this? It's an alternate universe story and a spin-off that isn't going to be affecting the main show much, right? Admittedly I find the designs weird and I question the decision to set the alternate world in a high school, but this is still part of the Friendship is Magic verse, rejecting it on the basis of what it looks like or where they chose to set the story is like rejecting a cartoon because it stars cute, colorful equines who learn about friendship. It doesn't make sense to get all fired up over this.
