9782861352107 should have been 9789861352107, You copied down the 4th digit incorrectly. When a publication has both an ISBN10 and an ISBN13, the first three digits of the ISBN13 are always 978, followed by the first 9 digits of the ISBN10, and then the final digit in both is a checksum. So that would explain why you had more difficulty with that one.

Luckily the first few digits of an ISBN are a region code, where in this case 986 and 957 are both China/Taiwan, and from there it was just a matter of finding the Taiwanese ISBN database. (And the ISBN13 prefix 978 is for "Bookland", a fictional country that just indicates that the number is a converted ISBN10)
