ESG 2013-PARTY!
So finally home and somewhat rested from Elliott's Spring Gathering 2013 in Las Vegas (Hard Rock Cafe). Man I don't know if I am cut out to travel weekend back to back. Just prior to this weekend I was at BLFC. @_@.
ESG was short, but still amazing and unique compared to most furry gatherings. Though I could of done without seeing all the muscle heads and scantly dressed beach attire on the women folk there for the volley ball tournament that was going on in the hotel the same weekend.
On Saturday, I attended a panel on becoming a DJ with my hubs. He had became the center of attention of Chris Kemp, Zane Brown, and Graham Gold, for most of the panel since next to no one showed up. Eventually Neon Bunny (A great furry DJ) made an appearance later on. Graham Gold is so animated lol, very nice fella.
Later we attended a panel fronted by Lee Aronsohn, Gethin Anthony, and Maurice LaMarche in which they shared personal experiences in television production. This was equally entertaining. I loved the story about the storm during the Renly camp scene. And ZOMG Wacko belch. I still have that echoing in my head.
After this and prior to attending club Vanity again for the night, I guilt tripped the hubs into us going out to eat at the Bellagio Buffet, as it was Mothers day weekend and he forgot my card and this event was primarily for him. Though I did enjoy myself (wasn't expecting that)
Later that night, Xane FM (Zane Brown) opened up the dance floor. The club was mostly empty, and no one was dancing. The hubs had a great time and our roommate followed him onto the dance floor frequently.
While the hubs and eventually more suiters took to the floor, I noticed Graham Gold watching. I went up to him and chatted a bit. He had a lot of questions, as this was the first time he had heard of furries and was thrown into the culture head first. He seemed to take it all in with an open mind. e Then again this man has scene a lot in his days and has been residing in Thailand for the past five years (he was sharing a bit about himself as we chatted)
I also introduced myself to
malako , as I had been chatting with
MordecaiRigby via FB on my cell off and on and he informed me of who this blue raver fox was on the floor while I was describing the scene to him via text.
The night wound down with me, hubs,
matoakit, and
malako hanging out in the foyer until 4:00 a.m. after the club doors had been shut. The hubs and I also ran into Chris Kemp one last time in the elevator and got to talk more about music and our kids before we went our separate ways. His daughter is down right adorable!
On Sunday, I waited in the foyer as we were checked out and the hubs went off to suite up again to get a picture in front of the Las Vegas sign. Afterward, we went to lunch with all of the ESG attendees (thanks Elliott!) and departed to our place of origin.

It was a lot of fun! Maurice LaMarche was great to see, an inspiration from almost all of our childhoods.
