Room parties

I'm not 21, so I think I'm missing out big on those. D:

Who said you have to be 21?

The bajillion fatass furs that can't stay away from their booze for more than two seconds. :v

Whenever I goto cons, I'm always able to find parties that allow people under the age of 21. Even if they are serving alchohol,
they just ask me to respectfully not drink or I'll get kicked out. :P

Honestly, for me it IS the friends that make it fun at a con (unless you say, have an art table/dealer's table or some position of course) xp. They're probably inviting you because it's a good chance to see several friends at once?

Yeah, that's usually the only reason I attend AC, which in itself is a shitty convention, so I suppose it's not a fair comparison. XD

See, I fucking LOVE AC, buuut I also run an art table for at least a day and draw in the zoo with people I never see and so on xp

I don't like AC because I find all the panels are usually really boring or irrelevant. D: I like it for seeing people, but no one I know is going this year that I can't otherwise see on my own time.

Yea. I have to admit I never go to the panels, haha. Some look tempting but I'd just rather do other things.

Dude, not everyone can afford to take off work to come visit one person for a week. But they can often take a Friday or two off to visit a lot of friends and have really fun times together. At a con, everything that makes the fandom what it is is in one place. Friends, new potential friends, art, room parties, fursuiters, etc. It's simply logical to combine all those things into one, in a timeframe that is feasible for the majority of people. I can't afford to miss a week of work just to visit one person, no matter how much I love them.

Oops, I read that wrong. I blame being at work right now. :P

Hell, if you want to take a week off to come visit me, go right ahead! I'll be gone 9-10 hours a day at work, but its your choice! X3

I'm not so sure myself either, but I've only ever been to a small gathering. I'm a pretty shy fellow. I think I'd prefer to have a friend over for a week myself.

AC is a huge con. The biggest furry con, if I'm not mistaken. I've never been, but I'd like to go just to say I have. I live near FC so I go there every year. I even host an Otter Party and serve up fresh sushi on the spot. I don't have an age limit to attend, but I still check ID at the door in case someone decides they do want a drink.

Big cons like AC and FC can be overwhelming with the staggering amount of people and things going on around you. I enjoy smaller cons like Califur or the recent BLFC almost more because you can meet new people easier, get much better social interaction, and even pick them out of a crowd the next day.

I really am not sure because I never have been to a single con before...but then again I am only 17 and have been on this site for a whole whopping 1 year and 8 months or so so IDK what it is like and cant answer but I would like to know myself before going to one, just what is it about cons that makes them so...Well awesome!

I mean they always sound fun!

Yeah, I like that idea too. o: Whenever people ask me to go to a con though, it's always during school and I can only take the weekend off. D:<

For me at least, it's an excuse to gather a large amount of fuzzbutts from all over in one place and hang out with friends I dont get to see much, and if I'm lucky make some new ones.
