Do you use tumblr?
This journal title is very vague and open, but I'm curious. Do you use tumblr, and what do you use it for?
Essentially, I'm curious if anyone in this community utilizes tumblr for furry related stuff, or if they primarily stick to the main gallery based sites like FA, IB and SF.
I'm usually really hesitant about social networking sites (although tumblr seems a bit more self-orientated to me and less active networking), as I'm not a fan of being particularly social, but it's still a very interesting platform to spread information or items of interest.
Which is why I'm asking, as I've always found it fairly strenuous to find out about new projects in the community.
To answer my own question though; yes, I do use tumblr, and I use it to follow artists and webcomics I'd forget to check up on individually.

I've got a main blog, for general posts and reblogs, a general art blog, a NSFW art blog, a commissions blog, and one reserved to adult furry art.
The way it allows people to create side blogs is really useful
And as for sharing stuff, I think it's easier to get things seen on there than on other websites thanks to the dashboard and the "reblog" thing.
I browse funny/random pics as well, and some "Ask" blogs where people reply with pics/small comics

My website, http://ryuuie.net/, is actually my art-based Tumblr where I post my stuff. :)
I like it a lot better than Weasyl and FA and all that because, if I feel like it, I can customize whatever I want to without any hassle.

Tumblr is good to post your pictures, texts, and whatnots instantly.
Tumblr is bad for handling replies over replies unless you want to reblog them, and it will probably end up as a recursive spamming of information repeatedly.
I don't know what I am using it more for, perhaps finding interesting things around it, as "devopsreactions" have already been my favorite of my IT related jokes for instance.
Find your own way to like it for, though it's never a must!
In anyccase, I think tumblr would be good for ya. Its a good place to dump all your ideas and check for feedback. You have a really good fanbase, it'll definitely be a good source of info.
I use it, although i'm not an artist. The person who got my using it was Maim. She made many accounts and uses them to post different things that aren't always generally appreciated on FA and to find and keep tract of other artists and fandoms.
It is a pretty nice site because it's very post-oriented. It lets you get to art right away and has a relatively easy interface to get things done with. It can also help to keep you up to date on some events in the fandom as well as get your stuff out there.
Hopefully this helps.
Weirdly, they use Tumblr alot :P! But that's all I do really, I don't have that much free time xD!
Namely for homestuck fanart.
Though there are a few active furry artists I watch...
For some of them, it gives them a place to put art that isn't allowed on other sites, but doesn't fit on here.
The site's default layout is garbage, its alternate layouts are even worse, and the 'reblog to comment' default setting causes any attempt at a conversation to turn into an unreadable clusterfuck of unusability. The amount of effort it would take to twist tumblr into a usable site isn't really worth the effort when the various gallery sites have siginificantly better functionality.
Lots of folks love it, but I hate it. It renames files without any names (thus killing ID efforts), it has no rules about permission to post and actively encourages people to post anything they find, thus encouraging the idea that if it's on the internet it's free to use as you please.
Both are just for following. No original posts for me! ;D
(I have thought of posting sketches on my sfw one, though.)

I dunno what people have problems with, I love tumblr. I can find all kinds of art and artists on there for all kinds of subjects.
Already have too much stuff to follow and check up on as it is and I just can't keep track and forget about things.
ps, I do use a tumblr, but that's just for random things on the internet
