I've been getting compliments from my friends and some others about my art. I know I'm still very much an amateur, and the compliments are greatly exaggerated. Nevertheless, I am aware of my potential. Looking at my financial situation, I'm wondering if it would be wise to open for paid commissions. Very very cheap of course! So, I'm wondering if anyone thinks it's a good idea? I've seen others at my skill level open for commissions before. My initial thoughts on pricing are:
$5 for a basic colored sketch. (I feel $5 is a good base number as anything less wouldn't seem worth the hassle with Paypal)
$2 per additional character
$3 for a background/scenery
No additional charge for mature anatomy although I'm considering an additional charge for anything adult.

Also, I would love to draw icons, but I wouldn't want to charge $5 for them. But again, I don't if Paypal is worth anything under.
And I'm really proud of making my first hand drawn animation (my current icon). I would be interested in selling animated icons. But they would be expensive as animating is difficult and time consuming. I was thinking $10 for an animated icon.
