Group Rave: Auctions OPEN, & pondering re: General Slots...

The special AUCTION slots for my Group Rave Commission (DJ, poi spinners, etc.) are now OPEN! Click here to view my preliminary sketch, and/or place a bid:

These auctions are ending SUNDAY, MAY 19th at 8 PM Pacific (11 PM Eastern) time, OR 15 minutes after the final bid for each auction is placed, wheiever is later (to prevent bid-sniping).
Now, for some pondering on the General Slots!
This is the first time I've done something this complex, and I'm now realizing with this huge crush of bids on the auctions, that opening 50+ slots all at the same time (there are 61 at last count, and I may even squeeze in a few more! o_O)... would probably be utter chaos, to put it mildly!
So, I am thinking that I will instead split the general slots up into several groups of similar slots (ie balcony, front of dancefloor, middle of dancefloor, etc.), and take the total number of reservations available for the TYPE of slot, rather than the exact slot. This way I won't have to worry about double-booking, and you can still choose the flat rate you want and your approximate position in the picture, first-come first-serve.
I am also thinking that I will hold a SECOND ROUND OF AUCTIONS, Sunday through Monday, for all of the unusual slots that I can't fit into a general category (most of the couples slots, and a few others I didn't put with the first auction, like sound tech, barflies, etc. - I was planning to offer them at higher prices than other slots, but since that could be a real booking nightmare, they would be auctions starting at $1 instead). I know this is a little different than my originally stated plan, but I think it will work a lot smoother this way.
Otherwise, I foresee it being REALLY hard to figure out who claimed a given slot first, and the potential for confusion and hurt feelings is high. This should hopefully make it easier on me, as well as on you! I think it'll end up much more fair in the end. :)
I will post finalized information about a second auction round and groupled slots on Sunday, after the first round of auction slots have closed. Thanks for bearing with me while I figure out the logistics! :)

Really I am thinking that blocks of similar slots, where you can pick approximately where you'll be (ie balcony) rather than exact slots is probably what I'll do. Then I can take reservations for X number of slots until they're full without worrying too much about double-booking. I might be able to pull this off all at once, so there will be less waiting around involved! Again, sorry for the suspense. XD
