Still being able to text (and be coherent) means no immediate brain damage. The scans are probably to look for hidden damage. Sore all over sounds about right for being in a front collision, the seat belt and airbags are there to keep you from flying about the cabin and keep you from cracking your head open on the dash, they're not kind to the parts they protect. The cabin would need to be expanded about five feet in every direction to provide enough space for 'no injury deceleration.

Charm's a tough wolf, considering everything shi's gone through, and the asshat's insurance should cover replacing the truck, depending on how fly-by-night the asshat's insurance company is, they may try to argue 'shared liability.' (The idiot who hit me had a company like that, they tried to argue that I should not have stopped while making a right hand turn on red after starting the turn simply because an ambulance was screaming into the intersection with lights blazing and having just turned on the siren.)
