lets not forget that they plan to update this thing which was what they intended so maybe they might cancel the fees, add backwards compatability, won't require to be online once a day, and everything else thats been complained about will get fixed up

I really really doubt that they're planning an update one day after announcing all of these horrible things, before the console is even out

let's be realistic here

lets look at it this way. when it's all shipped out microsoft will be performing updates like they do with the xbox 360. also we're dealing with advanced tech so nobody knows what they can do with this. they probably plan to give backwards compatibility but the cost has gotten to them ad will have to put it in as part of a future update

also if the people make a loud enough noise they might make some last minute tweaking and fix a few things beforehand

Well, the issue with the backwards compatibility thing is that that has to do with the hardware, not the software. It can't just be updated with a patch.

And, they patch the 360 and such to fix bugs an known issues. All of the things I mentioned, are features of the console. You don't just... spend years planning a system, only to release it to the public and then spend a butt ton of money revamping the whole entire thing. It doesn't work like that. Not to mention, with all the "tweaks" people want them to make, if they were to actually do them it would take so long that they would have to delay the system (because that is a very substantial amount of changes) and it would miss the Christmas season, which I can guarantee you Micro$oft is not about to do. lol.

Don't worry I'm not upset with you or anything. I'm not gonna knock your taste either. But Microsoft is really fumbling around and making quite a few nasty mistakes that they can't just fix quite as easily as you think they can.

They're not rumors anymore. I'm getting this information from the reveal of the console itself that Microsoft did yesterday. You might want to look it up, lol.

It could be a prototype.

Game companies don't publicly announce every single feature of a console a few months before launch if it's still in the prototype stages of development...

Been laughing so hard at this debacle. I think they've actually made the Wii-U look like a competitor in the current race by doing this.

They really have, honestly! Microsoft isn't handling this well... at all.
