General
Just for those who may be wondering what I'm up to. I'm currently recovering from further surgery on my face. Last year I had a rather major operation on to correct and underbite. They had to shift both the upper palette and the lower jaw since the gap between them was substantial. As a result I had metal plates and screws fastened all over my face.
A few months ago I noticed a growth next to my nose. Turns out the screws on one side had come loose and my body was calcifying them. It got infected a few weeks ago, hence why I was detoxing.
I had the surgery to remove the upper plates and screws two days ago and I'm going to be pretty out of it for a little while as I recover and slowly reattach the flesh to my face again.

I tend to recover pretty quickly, generally about 50% faster than average so I should be ok pretty soon. Sucks not being able to blow your nose though, feels like it'll fly off if i did :P
I wish you well.
If the doctors haven't already suggested it, you might want to make your diet fairly liquid for a while. Not the popular definition of 'liquid diet,' you don't need alchohol right now, I'm talking about soup and broth, to reduce the abbound you need to use your jaw for chewing. (This is purely from an Engineer's viewpoint, taking a system 'offline' or unused while repairs are in progress. If my advice disagrees with the doctor's, obey the doc.)
One thing I *DO* remember about the human(oid) body, is that most of the actual healing/rebuilding is done while we sleep, so don't be ashamed to leave the alarm clock silent when you can get away with it.
Hope you get better soon.
;) Get well soon.
*Twitchtwitchtwitch.* Screws and plates belong in tanks, not in people. Where are the nanobots!? WE NEED MORE MEDICAL ADVANCES!
I'll be keeping an eye on your journal for an update about this.
BTW, I'm glad I finally found you! I'd seen your pics on Yahoo groups, but could never find the actual artist. It may not be worth much, but you've got a die-hard Mif-Maf fan pulling for you here. Good luck!
