I think Consoles will pretty much die with this generation anyway unless the PS4 really delivers, the Wii U is like something and nothing [Trying to be too many things at once and ending up a confusing mess] and the Xbox 1 has gamers pissed beyond belief [Add to that Windows 8 and Surface...Hate to be working for MS right now]

Its like who plays Nintendo DS or Playstation Vita now there's Smart phones and Tablets, I think people will rather just buy better decent/gaming PCs rather than X Box 1 etc

I really don't think consoles are gonna die out this generation. Maybe the more bread and butter consoles will, yeah, but something like the WiiU will stick around for a few more iterations, just because of the possibilities you have with the games that you can make on it.
I don't necessarily think the WiiU is trying to be too many things at once, and if it is, then I don't see how it's a confusing mess really, I mean, I own one, and not once did I sit there and go "WTF am I supposed to even do with this thing".

Plenty of people play DS/3DS's, Vitas? Not so much, or at least, I don't know many people who play on a Vita, but the 3DS is pretty much dominating. Smart phones and tablets are their own thing. Gaming on tablets or smart phones is kinda limited.

And yes, exactly, why get a PS4 or XBox One when you can just buy a better PC?

It just says developers are required to make it so remote play is an option. Not that you have to have a Vita. That would be silly.

Everyone seems to be bitching about gaming consoles in general, whether it's Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft products.

Guess that just leaves the PC and indie games...

Know what? don't like a feature, don't use it. I'll might get a XboxOne mostly b/c I got friends that are unwavered by the the features, Hell even excited about them. But in any case, all three systems are only in pseudo-competition now. Nintendo is the affordable inovator, Xbox the living room media center & Playstation is the attempt to be a high end gaming pc that will contend with the Steam box.

I think everyone's more concerned with voting with your wallet, from what I gather most of us are angry that they're almost completely ignoring the dedicated gamer market, while also pulling some pretty massive dick moves with the people that deal in used games. Not to mention all the other fuckery that has gone on, I think most people are just not going to buy it on principle, not because of one feature!

But that's just my opinion.

I've been waiting to see the releal. To see what games they have to offer, to see if there was anything interesting, since i PLAY with my console, unlike lucky guys (americans most of the time) that gets to use every feature of it.

SO, i watch the presentation, i see a guy blabbering for all the time about TV here, TV there, KINECT EVERYWEAR (that mind you, every serious gamer i know could give a shit about it) and all the gaming i saw is...a very bad "gameplay" movie from cod and a fake screen to screen comparison. That's it. Wow, so much for being a gaming console lol.

AND yeah, the used marked bs, the necessity to be connected online to play with MY games as well...just fuck off ms.

There's a difference between not liking a feature and being forced to pay full price for a gimped console in your country.

I am waiting on E3 to make a full opinion about the console, the reveal was almost nothing about games and I am hoping that since they got that out of the way they will talk about games from now on... then this is just hoping, but still to early to judge.

I doubt it's too early to judge: they gave the console specifics and what's for, they better get like 80% of the exclusives for themselves to make it worth it. Otherwise getting the console just for the more of the same of halo and gears of wars...isn't really worth it.

Speaking of tv bullshit, that reminds me of when none of the Netflix stuff on the PS3 would even work where I live (despite it technically being part of the US), so I never got to do the free trial stuff.

I wonder if the same thing will happen with that Xbox, though I don't have any reason to buy it since most of the games I want come out either on Sony or Nintendo stuff. (Then again, there's only been around 1 or 2 Xbox games I've wanted to play, since they're exclusives , but that doesn't justify buying the console at full price)

It's not like the current consoles don't have the same features already. Connected to the internet all the time, has netflix, and hulu so you can use it to watch TV. All it's done it put it in a new package added the power to play the old games, for a price.

The point is, i am connected to the internet for choice. If i wanna just play offline, i can do it. With Xbox1 i can't. And if internet dies for a week, i won't be able to play for a week.

Meh, not so much. Maybe with MMOS, but for example steams lets you play in offline mode all singleplayer stuff as well.

That is true, with Steam, but I tend to play with friends so I have to be online anyways. I tend to chat too. So offline mode isn't much of an option for me.

Microsoft screwed themselves with this product, because No one wants it. If they had revealed the 15 titles they confirmed to kickstart this and actually PLAYED with some of it, even one outside of the mainstream sports and COD WITH DOOOGS~ people might consider it.

And the used games billing, you just dug yourself a hole. Who else is doing it? No one.

Maybe someone in the U.S. would consider it. Why would anyone outside of it even want a gimped console out of their "main" nation? We're still gonna pay full price an we won't get all the functionalities so, they can keep that poor excuse of a video recorder lol

A small bit of people might consider it - but...eh. It's requiring too much. Paying for extra cable, extra internet, your Kinect -has- to work in order to play the games, and who knows if the prices of the next gen games will rise over the usual $60 Gaming nowadays has too many requirements to have fun; people aren't made out of money to buy everything full price.
