One of my projects over the weekend was to write a story for  ruaidri's writing contest. I achieved my goal, which was to get a first draft completed. For a while there while I was laying it out I wasn't sure if it would stay under the 5,000 word limit without some trimming, but the completed first draft came out near 4,000, so now I have some room to expand and add more description as I go through the process of editing.

It will be posted here and on SF. It'll probably be a week or two, so keep watching this space.
