Pokemon Players (and what games do you play?)
Hello! I just wanted to ask if any of you are into Pokemon.I'm sure a lot are, but I was wondering, are any of you the kind who trains for EVs, breed for charecteristics etc?
Basicly, the players who spend an age planning and traning teams.
I was just wondering, because I'm one of them.
Most of the Pokemon groups I've seen tend to lean towards the casual play and don't really have pages/information on EVs, breeding and training etc. It;s also really hard to find the grup members ho are.
I would like to have a chat with those people, get a few hints etc.
Unfortunetly I haven't done much competative play because I can't find others like that, and I don't really know what is 'hot' at the moment in terms of stratagies etc.
(I really don't like fourms, so I don't join in and post stuff in them. Long story short; I had a really bad experience with a forum which has left me a little cynical about them.).
I'm a pretty big gamer, and I've been so for years (for as long as I can remember).
What kind of games do you play?
I'ma fan of adventure mostly, but I really enjoy any type of game. The only game genre I don't tend to look into is first person shooters. I do like Metroid Prime though and Jet Forse Gemmini!
Also, I'm working hard on improving my sketching skills.
You've may have seen the sketches I did in my gallery. I work hard on them, and one is a new charceter (Another one? Yeah, but Hide is part of a pair).
I'm working on a sketch for Madshy (a little gift) and a sketch of an elf. Unfortunetly I'm really bad at humans etc. Hopefully it will come out ok.
I'm also nearing 1000 page views, so I may do a little sketch giveaway or something. It kinda depends on whether I'm busy at that point.
Have a great day!

I'm trying to get egg moves onto Pokemon. Egg moves are helpful. I bred a Lickitung with Curse, which is now an EV trained tank of a Lickylicky.
Personalities do affact how they breed too. Some personalities don't like others.
You know, if you let one hold an Everstone it will mean that the ofspring will have a 50% chance of having the same personality as the parent who held it.
Great for getting a particular personality.
I read a lot about how each personality affects the growth of Pokemon.
I have serveral charts showing what is affected.
Each one increases growth in a certain stat, and lowers growth in a diffrnt one.
(Adiment ups Attack and lowers Special Attack.)
Personally I don't think there can ever be a 'perfect' Pokemon.
It depends on how the player plays and what they like best.
It also depends heavily on the sitiation. I find a varied move set on Pokemon to be best, it covers a lot more than specialising Pokemon with types.
You could even train a Gyraidos with an Electrice type move to take down other Gyraidos.
I decided to specialise my team on something, but I won't be telling anyone what!
I try to take everthing into account, though getting exactly what you want can be very difficult.
The egg moves and personality are no problem; it's the charecteristic which is a pain.
They put one stat but don't lower another, unfortunettly there is no way to increase the chance of getting the one you want.
I try vary move types on a Pokemon.
Manectric with Overheat or Flamethower is great!
It really catches opponents off guard!
For example; I was origonally going to put Gyro Ball on Lickylicky because Curse would lower speed but up Attack and Deffence. It seemed like a great plan, but when I tested it Curse didn't seem to affect the power of the move. I even gave it a Lagging Tail to cut it's already low speed in half.
I'm trying to use less common types of Pokemon in my new team. Mostly to show people that Ice and Grass Pokemon can be deadly when used well.
I hate it how some people just bash a Pokemon and ignore it simply because of it's type.
To many people use the same Pokemon; Hydragon, Haxours, Fire Types etc.
Any Pokemon can be deadly if placed in a team with the correct set up. You can even get a Luvdisc to become a sweeper with the correct set up. It just takes planning like you said.
Also finding what works best for you. I like to play defencsivly and whittle oppents down with special conditions and generally annoying moves like Leach Seed and Confuse Ray.
I'm thinking of setting up an account on here to have a group for this sort of thing; Breeding and Training Pokemon for teams etc. (And Shines! Gotta love them!)
But I know next to nothing about groups on FurAffinity. I don't suppose there's rules for that kind of thing?
If you combine that with Trick Room and Power Trick you'll also have a monster of an attacker. (But with very poor deffence. Sp.Deffence remains the same though.)
It's not as deffensive but in return you can use Explosion.
It it's on low health I'd just sacrifice it for a ton of damage.
It's apparently good for defence but I've never used one.
