Shortening it down just in case people are skipping over the journals. XD
Drakwald - Destruction - Vash - Shaman
Marienburg - Order - Vash - Engie
I mostly play on Drakwald right now as i cant really stand Order players anymore. Specifically, that they never heal their team mates. And i personally, do not want to play a healer for the order. So feel free to join me on Drakwald, id be glad to throw a heal your way.
(At first i was writing a long and drawn out journal about why pvp actually works in this game, but i accidently hit ctrl+w when i meant to hit shift+w, and it closed the window so.... yah. Ive had a lot of people tell me theyd never play this game because of the pvp. As a short recap of that journal, the things that suck about mmorpgs and pvp are ganking, twinking, stat padding, spawn camping, and game mechanics.
You cannot be ganked in warhammer as you are not flagged 24/7 unless you are in a pvp zone which you dont have to enter. If you are a low lvl when you enter that zone, the zone gives you a buff to increase your stats to the min lvl of that zone. If anyone from a higher tier tries to attack you in that zone (4 lvls higher than the min lvl) they turn into a chicken and are easily killed. So no you wont be ganked.
Twinking doesnt work to good in this game as you cannot be a one man fighting machine in pvp. You will get owned, as this game is highly focused on group combat. Even the paper armor classes can stand against dps classes in the lower lvls, no matter what their stats are.
Stat padding can exist, but not like yould hope. You cant just shove in the stam and live the entire fight. Due to the game mechanics of this game, you have to focus more on your dps and hps. And there are plenty of classes that counter your dps and hps.
You cannot spawn camp as you rez back in town, and you cannot attack a town as they are guarded by insta kill npcs. This game is not about raiding low lvl towns, or attacking NPC towns in general. its about contestable zones and control points, you can fight there. Also when you rez, you rez unflagged, and you have to flag yourself again.
And finally, game mechanics. The game mechanics for this game are awesome. For starters, there is very little focus on auto attack in this game. It is basically a DoT you will never really notice. What is the focus in this game are you abilities. Abilities cost Action points. There is no mana, there is no rage, everyone has Action points, and these points fill back up in the blink of an eye. This is now very easy for them to balance out the classes as you just have to compare dps and action point managment. The only class that takes serious advantage to this are the healers, but that doesnt make them overpowered since they either have to choose to spend those Action points on healing or damage. You can do both, but it will suck compared to other classes.
On that note, there is NO downtime in this game. You dont have to stop and eat food and water. You just have to stand there for like 5 seconds while you refill. IF your in combat however, only the action points refill, not your health.
And i just made the journal long again. Oh well i dont care. Feel free to discuss. If there is anything else about pvp you dont like give me the heads up. The problem with most MMORPGs is that they were designed for PvE first, and PvP second. This game is the other way around. They made the PvP first, and the RPG second. For those of you waiting on a trial to truly test out what im talking about, i hope they add it soon.
Oh and one final thing. Superior numbers does matter in this game. If you are even outnumbered by one or two, they will own you. (Depending on the size of the groups of course.) And if they have a healer and you dont... they will own you. And on that note, healers are super powerful in this game compared to other MMORPGs, more people should play as them.... save for shamans. There are way to many shamans running around right now.)

I do have a few complaints mind-you. Number one being that even though they have a form of level compensation in PVP areas, a higher level character still seems to outmatch a lower level one. Maybe not because of hitpoints, but because of the skills that they have available to them. Key abilities like a movement slowers, knockbacks/downs, interrupts, snares and snare removers arent available to all classes at lower levels, and may be at higher levels. I suppose this aspect is unavoidable, but it is frustrating for someone at a lower level, especially when it takes so long to level up.
Which brings me to another point - levelling. I find that if you want to level up outside of doing pvp, you're going to have a hard time. There are only enough quests in one area to get you up maybe 2 levels, and you'll have to go to another race's area. Even after visiting all 3 areas in tier 2, I levelled up maybe 7-8 times. That still leaves about 3-4 levels before you'd comfortably be able to hit the tier 3 content (And by comfortably I mean you could physically do it at level 18, but it'd take forever to kill a single monster). Now a mix of doing pvp and questing is ideal, but not everyone wants to do that.
I have a slightly smaller complaint about the armor. I think the developers could have been a little more creative with the variation in the armor items as there only really seems to be a few different looks to a chest or shoulder piece per each tier. Not to mention that if you want to color your armor in destruction to something dark and evil, they offer pretty purples, greens and yellows.
That aside, I'm enjoying the game for the moment, but I'm still a bit iffy as to if I'll pay for it monthly when my free month runs out.
I'd also like to see some patches that fix some of the other misc bugs, but have yet to see many. (Things like teleporting to the air, having my ugly cape reappear when I've turned it off, and ability effects that linger on my characters body and weapons.)
There are a lot of bugs id like to see fixed, and they could have done better with the items not looking very unique. It is even more annoying when some of these items you cannot dye.
Ive yet to have a problem where i flagged like that. Ive flag from healing a pvp player but thats it. And unless you die, it takes like 10-30 mins to loose the flag.
However, i do have to agree on the lack of leveling quests. Unless you sit there and grind PQs, and pvp, you arent going to lvl up at a normal pace. Then again, i like pvp, so its not really a big deal to me.
But yah your right though. People of a higher lvl do have more skills and are thus better fighters. But at the same time if you consider the AP system, the damage should be balanced towards the cost of the AP. Its just DoT spells are a bit to common on this game. A lot of the time, unless they are a really really low rank, they should be able to put up just as strong a fight as the others. A lot of the time, you just see people who just dont know what they are doing. And once again, the side with a healer, always wins. I cant tell you how many times ive gotten done with a scenario and looked at the scorebard to see that the only healing done on the order side, was done through potions.
