Uh, hey guys. I'm back from my trip. ^^;;
Actually, I've been back for about a week or so, but I've been kinda lazy and/or distracted by work and recovery stuff to say anything. =<.<=;;
Anyway, SE Asia was fun. A bit hot, and REALLY muggy (try walking around in a city/country-wide sauna all day in full clothing =@.@=), but fun.
Not sure when I'll get around to showing pictures and/or give more details, but lemme give brief summaries at least.
Singapore: Neat city-state. Particularly liked the zoo there (they even had cougars! =O.O= ). Well, zoos, really. One was the main zoo, and there was a Night Safari one: A smaller zoo only open at night, full of nocturnal animals (like leopards and Fishing Cats ^^; ).
Cambodia: Mostly saw Angkor Wat and its sister ruins, Angkor Thom. Neat temple ruins, but I think I would've enjoyed it more if it was 10-20 degrees cooler and 50% less humidity. =@.@=
Laos: Prf, Buddhas....Buddhas everywhere! (Everywhere in Cambodia, too. =@.@= ). Also saw the Plain of Jars. It's...well...a field full of these large, ancient, stone jars. No one really knows what they were used for, either. Maybe for burial purposes, maybe for food storage, maybe an ancient macro discovered jam. Who knows?
Also went down the Mekong River. Didn't hear any choppers, or any Doors music (or Wagner).
Hong Kong: Prrf, Skyscrapers...Skyscrapers everywhere! It's like the people in the city had no room to build but UP. The city kinda made me think of it as the New York of China (while Shanghai is the Chicago of China and Bejing is...well...the DC and LA of China combined).
