Questioning my existence.

Another day of questioning my existence -.-
Hopefully this mood won't last much longer, but it does raise some important questions most people are happy enough to avoid. Humanit, as a whole, could be seen as earths terminal illness. We're jus going to reproduce and multiplie till we kill the planet. But why? What do we exist for, thats worth the death of a planet? Money, fame? Both have their problems that'll lead to a stressful life I don't really long for. Family maybe? Kids? So they can continue on our legacy of just existing for the sake of it? If I have a kid, I want to spend everything I can spare while still surviving to give him/ her the most love and effection. Not to smother, but to teach, and have him question the same things. Maybe this way someone down the generations might find an answer that'll change everything. Or maybe this is just all in my head and everyone ells leads a fantastic and Fufilling life that isn't just a case of feeding off the earth to plant a grave stone.
...sorry for been so depressing. Just kinda what's been driving me nuts for the last few days. And I don't want anyone to feel worthless, but I would like to see more people asking questions like this. To know I'm not the only one who's struggling to find their purpose in life.

The planet is going to die anyhow. The sun will eventually reach a stage in its life where the earth and all the inner planets are just going to be pulled closer and disintegrated. Perhaps the resilience of humans is that our evolution has allowed us to do one very important thing: Leave the planet. Of all the species who have existed on Earth, we are the only ones capable of this feat. Yes, we've done some damage in the past, but our biosphere per se has chosen to sacrifice a fraction of its diversity for the sake that humans might evolve into something that could take the majority of the planets life and spread it around. . . an extremely important venture given that there is potentially no life that we may run into for a very very long time. :/

OP
I dunno, I still struggle to see how thats any different from a bacteria going airborn >.> And if that is humanities purpose, to evolve to survive, it still doesn't really make me feel all that amazing, that my purpose in life is to reproduce.
