General
I´ve got finaly my own PS3 yesterday and now I want to go online with it... but DAMN there is much to do until I can go online @w@
I did everything manual for myself... nothing automaticly...
I gave the PS3 a IP...
I puttet in the...
SubMask, Standart-Router, Primary and Secondary DNS
into the router I putted in the MAC adress from the PS3... and the IP I gave it...
I activated the connection from the PS3...
sayed it should use W-Lan...
gave it the SSID we use...
used to protect the WPA/PSK function...
MTU on automatic...
Proxy-Servers arn´t used...
and the UPnP is activated...
I realy did everything this damn thing sayed... but it even couldn´t found the IP when it should search for the connection @w@;;;
What The Holy Fuck is going on??????????? >o<
can someone help me please outthere?????
[EDIT]
okay I finaly managed to make my PS3 find the IP...
(I sayed to the router to show the SSID)
and in the status of the connection it sayes everything right... connection is most of the time between 55 - 75%
not the best but I can live with it...
but some strange stuff is there... when I look at the standart-router there is "0.0.0.0" <<;
and when I try to connect to the internet it sayes that there is a DNS failure (80710102)
oh and the UPnP isn´t avaible...
btw... it is a german 80GB PS3...
so I´m german too... maybe you noticed it cuz of the maybe dofferent names for the stuff up there |D

I copied everything from my computer into my DS, all settings, save for IP, which was 10 digits higher...
so, if your computer's IP is: 193.192.021.100, your PSP would have an adress like this: 193.192.021.110
it worked for my DS
I know that the first 9 numbers must be same like from the other IPs from our PCs x3;
I checked out the playstation site eather and it helped nothing :/
maybe this can help us finding out what´s wrong... ><
enter it into a browser, it may come up with something... for real
There are several different methods used to turn pass phrases into keys, and sometimes, kit can get confused, and use the wrong one.
In the router settings, see if you can find the full key (normally a 26 or longer hexadecimal string), then use that in the PS3.
The next troubleshooting step I'd try is telling the PS3 to automatically get an IP Address from the router, using DHCP. In fact, if your router supports UP&P (Universal Plug And Play), there really should be no need to manually set the address.
One last thing - make sure in the router that MAC Address filtering isn't set up - it will block any unknown kit from talking to it.
in my router I made it show the SSID....
after I changed that the Ps3 could find the IP and other informations...
but now I have another problem...
when I try to connect to the internet it finds the IP but can´t connect to the internet...
it sayes that there is a DNS failure (80710102)
but as I sayed in my journal I have putted in both DNS codes... manual...
I checked it more then twice... :/
any ideas?
Add the router's IP as the DNS (That will be the same address as the Gateway, and the address you go to to change settings on the router.)
Then either;
Add your IPS's DNS Address as the second - this can normally be found in the router's connections statistics.
OR
Use the IP Address 198.41.0.4 - that is one of the Root servers, who have authoritative control of all DNS.
Again though - you should ideally set the PS3 to Easy mode - this will use DHCP to talk to the router, and should pick up all the right settings, like your PC Does.
and I tryed out the easy mode thing...
it couldn´t even find the IP... it sayes that it needed too long to find the IP :/
maybe it have something to do with my router...
I have one from "Level One" and my modem is an "Arcor speed modem 200" with 16k DSL...
and to say it again I try to use W-Lan on my PS3...
