and the writing inspiration...theres a story in that that I will share

I hated on fanfiction for years, but hardly ever wrote anything but poetry, and never finished anything. I was challenged by a friend whose fanfiction I insulted to actually do something other than bitch about fanfiction or just write something better if I could. I've been writing like crazy ever since. I read a fanfic I actually liked, then wrote one that was popular, then another that was much more popular, and while I work on personal projects that are publishable now, I owe the feeling that I can create something entertaining to having that positive experience with fanfiction, and I never insult it anymore.

Sure its fanfiction, sure its a twisted silly fandom, but the end point was that in half a year I busted out 250000 words and they all made sense, built a coherent plot, wrote good villains and gave depth to characters. my inspiration comes from KNOWING i can create something that people would want to read, and having gotten thousands of reviews per year that gave me affirmaiton about the ability to write something enjoyable.

and this journal is the first and only time Ive mentioned that anywhere on FA...I'm hoping that my fandoms dont mingle!

Oh my, thats an awesome story, I'm glad you were able to share this with me and those who would read this journal. And 250000!? Damn, make me feel bad cuz I could never write that much. I'd write a story of my own if the one I had given up on wasn't so... I guess emo/romantically cliche/ and all around dribble. lol

hey...my first fanfic was very cliche...basically...I read what was out there, went with that style and put my own spin on it, and wound up with thousands of reviews...also...very emotional/angsty gay fluff an smutty goodness, but that was what people wanted...so I gave it

its not the story you tell, its how you tell the story...anything can be good or bad depending on how its done...and I only wrote that much because I suddenly started believing in myself and had the desire to keep going (I also learned to write out short litle minichapter guides before the writing the whole story...I already have all the details worked out before I start writing, so I know what I'm going to write about, all the way to the end..that helps most of all...cuz inspiration fades, but details I can build on later last forever

Thanks, I suppose I'm at fault for that. I believe I went to far ahead in my own head without writing anything out first. /Gay Fluff FTW!/ And I kept jumping back and forth on which story I wanted to do. But now I'm going to start at the very very beginning lol. Yay for gay shota fluff! Really thanks... Now I just need to get started lol.

e: hmm *bites the end of his thumb* well, all my other interests are in the complete opposite direction, math science, etc. and drawing was always something so... almost magically out of reach. I always liked art but had never been VERY talented at it, so I bought a tablet for my PSing, and just tried drawing with it and had fun. Made an account of DA and slowly but surely tried to shake off my suckiness *grins*

... haven't made one of my psycho PS creations yet, may do that using an illustration some time though
