A new old vehicle?
Okay time for another update! I'm sure some of you remember my truck that I had posted here recently that I was going to spend some time to fix up. Well apparently that has changed now, and not by my own doing, my brother asked if he could use it to move to Wyoming, and said I could use his 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS Sportback, which sounded cool and all, said if I wanted I could take over the payments and he'd continue to pay for a whole year, and I could take up after that, which would give me a Lancer GTS for just $15,000. Sounded good so I went ahead and accepted, I mean at least I wouldn't have to worry about it for a long time, since it's less then 6 months old. So he came by a day or two later and asked for the title to the truck, and I handed it to him, since he's my brother and it needed to be put in his name so he could get plates and everything for it, told him he's free to trade it off for something that suits him better if he needs too since I don't owe anything on it, and I'd be getting a nice newish car anyway. This was all about a week and a half ago, I'm just late posting it all, so anyway he came home the next day with a 95 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 1/2 ton. I didn't mind much, he can do what he wants with it, then he told me he didn't want it, and that he wants his lancer back. Well fuck, not much I can say since the Lancer is in his name with a 20K bank loan on it, so I got stuck with this big ass SUV, I mean it's fucking big, for those that don't know, take a Chevy long bed pickup truck, take the cab and bed off, and build an SUV ontop of where those bolted on, and that's a Suburban. It has three rows of seats, front and rear air, with controls for the rear air in the back and up front, the 1/2 ton leaf springs have been replaced with 3/4 ton leaf springs, and a big ol towing hitch under the rear bumper. It's certainly not my truck, that is for sure, but at least it's not a total piece of crap, though it does need a bit of work, less then my truck did, but still. Most of the work has been fixed already, but it still needs a few things here and there, like tomorrow June 15, 2013 we need to drop the gas tank, and clean it out and replace the tank strainer, and we'll be dropping the transmission pan and replacing the transmission filter, oil, and gasket. But it's already had some work done as well, it has new ac components, new spark plugs and wires, we've installed a new brake master cylinder, fixed all the lighting, except the hazard lights, the 95' has an issue with the button that activates them that brakes, so we need to go buy a new hazard switch. I'll post a picture of it and link it to this journal. All in all at least it could be worse, it has a Chevy 5.7L in it which is way more reliable then the 90's "Magnum" 5.9L, and it has a lot more seats in it.
