I just got ps3 beta access this morning, so am about to work on getting that set up.

I've got it downloading on my ps3 now, and just looking at the server list, I'm probably going with Chocobo server. :P

Is it multiplatform?

Yeah, it has cross platform support, so pc and ps3 players will play together.

PS4 as well, come 2014.

I've been in the beta not only for the original, but for this new iteration as well. And while I miss the customization of skills and what not from the first one, the new one is still fun to play, feels a little more like a FF game. Cool points for Square too, they're giving the game for free to people who owned and registered the original one, and if you had the collectors edition, you get the in game collectors pieces too.

I was in beta phase two, which is technically under an NDA so strict that I'm breaking it by merely telling you that I participated. But screw that, what I have to say is positive anyway :p

The original game was one I desperately wanted to like, but simply couldn't... it was too bad. The rework however is turning up much more solid. Beta phase 2 had barely anything at all in it, and it was already leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessor. The UI redesign alone lifts it from "unplayable monstrosity" to "it just works".

Is a massive change, I mean they did really listen to what was wrong with the game and totally made it work this time, at least so far

Yup i got one! I never touched the original... i took one look at what info there was on it and went "the hell? this is crap" came back after it launched fully..... and i was right.... now im giving the reboot a chance... :P
