Saw Man of Steel
Well, I saw Man of Steel with a non-fur friend of mine last night. I must say that this is the best Superman movie I have ever seen. The movie knows how to properly intermesh an origin story with the "Must defeat villain" story. The overuse of the shakey camera is annoying though but that isn't enough to ruin the movie. The only thing that made me facepalm is when there was a tornado coming and Kent's father told everyone to get underneath a freeway overpass. Then I realized that that happened in 1997 when many people thought this was a great idea. General Zod was an excellent villain and he is introduced right in the beginning of the movie. There were a lot of flashbacks to his childhood which helps builds his character and ties in heavily to the plot. I also like when Russell Crowe exposits Krypton's backstory, there are art deco imagery in the background. The best part about the Man of Steel is that Superman never had to pull off some strange powers out of nowhere like using his symbol as a cellophane wrap or spin the Earth backwards to time travel. I definitely recommend this movie.
Why can't DC Comics make a decent non-Batman film? D:
