Been there done that, still paying for the repair expenses this year!

Already been told that I might be replacing the motherboard soon as well after the repair work.

And oh yeah, the ongoing problem with the laptop is still there, so might have to replace that soon as well!

Definitely sucks having to have a computer die.

after looking I need to replace the MOBO, processor, graphics card and ram. Right now I am saving my money for AC and Otakon. so it may have to wait til after those.

DEFINITELY been there, done that. Had a storm in Houston a few months ago, before my move. Had the desktop plugged into a surge protector. Power flicker and bam, video card fried. Ram sticks ok though. Motherboard was tested after a new card put in an seemed ok.

Until a few weeks ago, the computer decided, nope, i'm not booting up. Took it in and was able to get it working, but the techs pointed out scorch marks on the motherboard that means that might need replacing "soon".

And oh yeah, I'm hoping the processor is fine, bought it seperately, phenom 2 quad core so that part will hurt alot.

But yeah, between repairs and the house, only one con for me this year, MFF.

Thanks zeeba neighbor but for the moment it's fine! I just need it to last another 6 months then I'll start placing my newegg orders and check to see if any locals can do the work to install stuff (paid of course!)
