Practice a ton, look at tutorials, watch streams, etc
Mostly the first and the third ones ~ started doing a lot of those, and my stuff improved fairly quickly.

Practicing a ton: even if it looks like shit, you're still learning something every time you do, and gaining a bit more control over how it turns out.
Watching streams: picking up some of the more efficient/effective ways of doing stuff
