I'm getting into this one too. My girlfriend began watching it and dragged me into it... but it's getting pretty good. I've literally watched up to the introduction of that "character" and, let's just say I have a bunch of theories about "him" and some other things that happened in the anime.

One I'll give you now, trying to be as vague as possible to try and remain spoiler free...

Know how Eren's "not able to keep upright" issue was caused by faulty equipment (and the part that broke doesn't normally break)? I have a feeling it was done on purpose. Who by? Well, I have two possible suspects:
1) Misaka (to try and discourage Eren)
2) The guy who's jealous of Misaka liking Eren (to get him out of the way).

Honestly, I'm looking at suspect 1 on this one... it honestly makes a lot of sense.

That incident never gets brought up ever again in the manga. The explanation was rust, I don't think you can purposely make something rust with the technology at the time

Stupid manga... ruin my hopes and dreams... XD

I love this series so much, so dark without being overbearing. Also is like a super deconstruction of macro power fantasies.

Indeed! I like that it takes a more realistic approach on technology instead of the usual mecha gundam giant robot stuff!

When I visited Japan the manga caught my eye, so I started reading translations online. Then the anime came out and it was doubly good. c:
