In my opinion seeing someone else using, dancing in monsteroo wouldnt seem right to me. I mean someone else as monsteroo just wont make him seem alive anymore. i mean i know havnt seen ne one else in the suit but i think only you could ever pull off monsteroo. :/ that's just me though >.<

I say you alter the suit in a few areas to make him not MonsteRoo. Then sell him. That person who ever would buy it would probably receive so much flack. I've seen it happen before.

The character you've created for the guy, I personally think it would be a bad idea. Unless you managed to sell him to someone you personally know really well and can do the same moves and personality that we know today.

Why not take him to Australia? I think being a Roo he'd fit in quite well!

I know being strapped for cash sometimes makes us want to consider all available options, but personally, I think you'd regret the sale quite quickly upon seeing it else where.

Just my thoughts though, I can give you some leads in Australia, I know one dancer fur there who would do it justice who doesn't own a suit.

I would be sad if you stopped being monsteroo... but I also think its your character to do with as you please :) whatever makes you happy!

if I were you I would have him refurbished :) spend a little money or start a donation fund to fix him up or update him so you don't overheat XP He's a great character who can't be played as well as you do by anyone else (in my opinion). :)

From one dancer to another, you're honestly the only one that will ever look right AND fit the character in the suit. I don't think you should sell it - it's become a vital part of who you are.

If you're really in need of income and want to sell it, do some alterations to the design along with repairs - that way you're not totally giving him a make-over, but more of an evolution to a new character (and a new owner)

Then sell it, or change it up a bit before you do. If you really feel like it's not you then nobody should stop you.

If you're going to sell it, alter it so it's no longer that same character. One of the best things to do with a suit is to take pictures and video, and you can't control whether or not someone else posts a video of the suit at a convention or some place and post it. The buyer would be the owner of that suit and should be able to do whatever it is they want with it. So maybe use the money you get from it to get an updated version of that character and have some fun with that if you don't want the character to retire.. :)

I in all honesty don't think anyone could preform Monsterroo like you can, I couldn't imagine another person in the suit. I imagine you are the only one who really understands the character since you created the suit, him as a character. I just don't like the idea, but of course it is always your choice is what matters. If you think this is whats best I would do it, but that's just my opinion. Honestly Monsterroo is the suit that brought me into the fandom and I'd be said to see him go. :c

If you decide to sell Monster Roo, I think you should make some changes with color or design or something so its not quite the same character.

Because honestly, once you sell it its very likely the new owner will do whatever they want with it. Videos, photos, actions, whatever.
As well as if you don't change the design, not everyone is going to know you sold it and people will think the new owner is you.

I'm not saying don't sell it. Everyone needs money and if you don't have a place to keep it that is pretty problematic.
But if you sell it you really should make some decent changes so its not immediately the same character.

Urgh, that's a tough one. From a sentimental point of view, your distinctive performances in the suit make the idea of anyone else owning it seem rather sad. From a practical point of view, speaking as someone who has had to sell off several personal suits in the past, I understand the need to clear the way for new possibilities. Some fursuits are keepers, while others just stay for a while to help you figure out what it is you really want. And while it's good to share your thoughts with the community, it's ultimately only you who can decide which kind of fursuit Monsteroo is.

At any rate, I'm glad I got to finally see you and the suit in person at Bhav's CF room party. Albrecht and I were (carefully) examining Roo's head while you were taking a break, hehe.

Would be sad to you let him go, you brought so much life and character to the suit. But as you've said, you need the income and bringing to Aus would be a hassle. x.x

Ultimately, it's up to you, your suit, so you can do as you please. It'll be a bit strange to see you not performing with it, but maybe another character might spawn from it :p

I love MonsterRoo! Not like he'd be going away if you sold him. He'd be floating around here and there, perhaps a little different but still present.

i have one thing to say, don't do it, monsteroo is a part of you, and without its rightful owner, monster, won't be the same.
on the other hand if you do sell it, probably the new owner will definitely use it to perform or why else would he want the suit.

Hrmm... I dunno. If you need the money, just be sure you sell it to someone you trust to handle the character with respect, ya know? Personally I'd do what Yippy does and just keep collecting suits. xD Look at it this way... can you think of any reason you would regret selling it? And if yes, then why?

I look back on the Jeep I built. I regret selling that car constantly, even though I hated so much about it - I put a lot of effort into defining that car as MINE. I did tons of custom work on it, made it track worthy, and had tons of fun with it. Then I moved to San Diego and though it'd be better to sell it than deal with it. Now, I look back and I miss it dearly.

So I know they say that if you love someone, you'll set them free - but the sentiment doesn't exactly apply to inanimate possessions with no free will of their own, ya know? But that's just me, I'm sentimental like that.

If you find that you can get that thing to somebody who you trust will respect the character and you, then count yourself lucky and go for it.

Here's my two cents as a fan at least of this.

I think it's totally acceptable that the suit(and ergo, the IP sort of along with it) to be sold, it's part of the value. You're selling the character, and the suit kind of. That said, I'm not sure you could really get the IP cost to help accommodate for actually losing it. You'd basically just get the cost of the suit I think, and there in lies the issues with someone else doing anything in suit in a video.

What if they participate in a roof top dance, or a masquerade, or are just walking around a convention and 'someone' films them? There's a lot of things I don't think you, or they could control without taking some of the use of a suit out of it as well.

As a friend just commented to me though, you could interview people who want to buy it, and maybe sell it to someone that you feel more comfortable with, or has different wants for the suit. It's all tricky really though.

I think, speaking of terms with it, if you sell the character, you can't just say "no you can't dance in it." Honestly saying because it belongs to someone else and that's putting the bar on something that maybe they would like to interpret MR as. I would think that's a bit unfair to them.

IN instance of myself, if I bought Roo I know I wouldn't be able to dance as well as you, but I have the abilities to do other such things such as the attitde in it as well as feirceness that you've embodied roo to be. You saying that I couldn't perform in the suit in say a video at the convention that I really wanted to be a part of and Roo was the only suit I had would be kinda messed up and would make me, even though I bought the suit, trash it mainly because of that.

Don't take the freedom of someone's imagination towards making MonsterRoo into what THEY see it's potential to be. Let them make that choice, not yourself.

With you saying it's not a part of you as well, I'd say sell it, use the money to make another suit. You've built Monster and you know what flaws he had. So, in a sense, make yourself another one to your better design to get what you want the second time.

It will be sad to see Monster Roo go, it's one of the first things that introduced me into the fandom! But if the character is becoming a burden then it's probably time to move on.

Monsteroo was one of the first furry youtube vids I ever loved and I watch them all the time. Im sure someone would pay through the nose for it, and since 'his' true fans would know what is up I am sure most of his fans would keep watching you no matter what suit you have.
Does that make sense...? Lol like I will watch your dances no matter what suit you have. You could probably get a lot for the suit. But I would also be sad to see him go but such is life!

To be fair, youd had very good memories and times with the suit think back on that as a positive thing and move on if you dont feel its 'you' :)
