I have all the zones. I cannot join any game for any of the alerts, and being invited to join a game ends with a "Cannot join game" message

sorry, no idea. i have myself sometimes the problem that i cant join a friends game, or they mine, but relogging helps usually. But that message and not able to join random games? sounds .. broken :/

I'm not having issues. Maybe try setting your ping limit in the options higher? It could be thinking you have super high ping so is refusing to put you with anyone. That's the only thing I can think that would cause major connection issues. x.x

if that is the problem, then there's no point in playing anyways since having a slide show isn't exactly contributing to the team. :(

I can't join any of the alerts to get the new artefacts, no matter what I try. it's aggrivating.

Never have problems aside from my slow net connection sometimes not allowing it to download updates.

I couldn't join my mate when she was in one of those alerts, but I could join a random group when I set myself to Online mode and clicked the alert directly.

I can't even do that. It just sits there waiting for me to press Play now. People can't even join up with me if I do that, even.

Is it just with these new defense alert missions or does it happen with every mission?

So far, I've tried it only on the new defense alerts, I'll poke around on other alerts tomorrow to see if it's the same.

I love it, especially the art style, but somedays it annoys the hell out of me, like today.

Hmmm... are you unable to join lobbies (if any) or are you just unable to enter the game itself? Or are you unable to see games on a server list?

It can be a problem on their end (aka the game server), can be an internet connection (or filter problems if unable to see games in a list) or there is some serious bug of a mofo that just want to troll. (If it is the last one, then bad luck I suppose. ^^; )

Just to add quickly, I dont got the game itself, so I go by some generic FPS gaming questions. ^^; If I seem ignorant, then do forgive me.

Hah. A reinstall on my connection eats up almost a months worth of internet. I would rather exhaust my other options first before resorting to that.

I don't play the game, but it seems you aren't the only one. Either it's just your bad luck with these glitches or your Internet connection issues make these glitches happen.

Normally, a well designed online game should be able to deal with few packet drops or connection issue and have some kind of data redundancy, but it seems for example, if a door is supposed to open at some point, but your client misses the data packet because of your Internet connection issue, the door will remain closed on your client while the door is open on the server. If I were an online game coder, I would make sure there is some kind of function to periodically check if the state of the door on the server is the same as the one on the client just to avoid having both worlds being out of sync. :E

Someone with a good Internet connection should try the game and find out if it's just some glitch or the game inability to deal with packet loss. XE

Are you on ADSL?
Did you ask to get switched to interleaved mode?
Did they try lower your profile to reduce the signal errors?

And I know what you mean when the game is glitchy sometimes/most of the time. When that happens to me I have to completely log off the game(Close it!) And re-open and try again. It's annoying. ;.=.;

have you tried starting the mission yourself and waiting for others to join you? once the party you are trying to reach hits wave 5 it locks it because they have "completed" the objective even though they havent actually finished

I've sat in the starting area for 10 minutes during the alert and nobody pops in on two seperate occasions, so I'm certain it isn't that. Also, my steam is on my main page!

so your major issue is connecting to other games and players right? if that is the case I would double check your fire wall and maybe see if port forwarding will help you. do you have any one on your friends list in game you have tried to connect to ? and it may be your location as well.. we had a issue a few nights ago with my friends connecting and it turned out to be their isp was acting up. just drop me a line if there is anything else that you noticed that may explain what is happening.

As I've just discovered, Warframe uses peer-to-peer networking. I hate these. There is a reason why iD Softwares abandoned the idea back in Doom 3 times.

Changing the location in Warframe might help or perhaps hosting the game would fix all that. Hopefully SkyShadow's ISP doesn't have Deep Packet Inspection or this peer-to-peer networking might be hindered by it. D:

At least, the wyvern should test his Internet connection reliability with http://pingtest.net/ just to make sure. And if possible, to get someone bring their PC to SkyShadow's home to test it out. :E

Yes port forwarding might be an issue as well. I was unable to connect to a friend's game because he didn't have his ports forwarded

This sometimes happens to me too, not always but on occasion with said alerts.

Warframe's always been troublesome for me, all the way back to closed beta - I couldn't even activate the beta key without a ticket.
