FCD - 1 week and counting! (updates)
Greetings, fellow furs!
We're now almost one week away from the 6th Furry Canada Day. Preparations for this event are almost complete, and we're looking forward to seeing you all there!
We're almost ready to go, and things are looking up, but there are a few minor items that we'd like to bring to your attention:
1) The route we are walking has a couple of minor changes due to downtown construction.
- We cannot meet right outside the Supreme Court, as they are doing work there and have walled off a lot of the space. However, there is a nearby greenspace to the left that is still free so please meet us there.
- At the end of the walk, there are some renovations being done by the art gallery. For those who've been to FCD before, what this means is that the columns we would normally change behind at the end are blocked off. However, we have found a couple of alternatives right around the same area, so this won't really affect us too much - we will just make a decision when we get there and direct everyone to the right spot.
2) Starting tomorrow there will be a new auction up! We are actually auctioning off a hand-made Canadian Paw flag. Wearable as a cape or to be carried during your next fursuit parade, this stylish item is a great way to show off your national and furry pride at the same time! :) The auction will be happening over the next few days on FA itself, so watch for the FA journal and submission details very soon!
3) In regards to the Canada Day commission that we recently completed, we have heard from the artist. It is going well and he's excited to show us the finished work; however, due to the high number of characters involved, there will be a slight delay in its completion. We are hoping to have it posted to FA within a week of Canada Day, but it will be up as soon as possible.
4) Finally, I just looked at the weather forecast for July 1 in Ottawa and so far it looks like SUUUUUUUNNN. :) If it does rain, but not too hard, we still plan to meet up at the same location and just enjoy whatever Canada Day events are going on together.
