Very cool...we have red squirrels and grey squirrels out here--every so often you'll see a grey squirrel with a pure black like that.

Wow, that's cool. I've never seen one. I've seen a few albinos before, they're adorable!

I've seen a few like that around the Saugus/Wakefield area over the last 5 years. A year or two ago there was one living somewhere quite close to my condo, and I'd see him every few days. I guess they're more prevalent in Canada but they're starting to show up a little more down here. They're adorable (but then again, so are all squirrels).

It's kind of funny that I read this today, because earlier I was at the Boston Public Gardens trying to get squirrels to come over to me lol. I also saw a mama duck with 8 fuzzy little babies in tow. It was funny because it was right near the "Make Way For Ducklings" statues, and it was the exact same number of ducks. :3

Nope, not a separate species. Just a different coloration of the grey squirrel (red and grey are different species).

They seem to be common in some places, rare in others. This was the first one I'd ever seen.
