Problems In Warhammer

Alright so this is just a rant. I encourage people to skip over it. If i dont actually say it out loud, i will repeatedly say it in my head. NOw this isnt a problem with the game. Its a problem with the players. The only problem ive had with the game are some of the glitches which they seem to be busting their asses about fixing.
Now, before i discuss the problems, let me define the actual effect of these problems. Simply, there are not enough good players at my lvl. This is being caused by several things. All of which are annoying. And just about every one feels like its originally caused by WoW.
First of all, let me say the first problem, and the first problem is WoW. It feels like the majority of these players where playing WoW not but the day before they got this game. Hell, probly an hour before they logged into it. This is causing major problems for the actual player population as way to many people are playing this like they would WoW.
I mean, i can look past the constant reference back to WoW while interacting with other players, but it starts to become a major problem when you have to sit there for 5 minutes explaining to them how to play this game. Most of this comes from the new features of this game, and players lack of understanding of these new features. Hell, even i suffer from this problem. Im so used to other MMORPGs, that aspects of this one almost come off as completely foreign.
Which comes up to the next problem. Public Quests. Now public quests are awesome, i mean that in every sense of the word. The problem is the players who do them. It has become a common and growing trend that players will farm the first PQ they come into contact with in a chapter until they reach elite influence, and then ignore the others. There is also the fact that many dont understand the difficulty system for PQs. When entering a PQ, and even i didnt discover this till like yesterday, the PQs name can be colored 3 different ways. Green is easy, Yellow is normal, and Red is hard. I cannot tell you how many times me and a group have attempted a red one, only to have the group whipe and everyone complain about how the game doesnt say whether the PQ will be difficult or not. Well guess what, it does. XP
Which only leads to more of a problem since the majority of the players doing these PQs are just skipping so much content that when they go up a chapter, they are neither the lvl, nor have the equipment to actually do the higher chapters PQs.
Which comes up to the next problem. People are in such a rush, they dont even bother with anything. They dont bother to read quest details, which is such a let down since every single quest is apart of the story. Its not just some random guy asking for something to be done for them, it actually has some weight to the background and lore. But people just skip it and just click accept. Which is also a problem for PQs since most people just want to farm them for influence. And this overall causes a huge problem. The maj of PQs farmed, have tons of players at them. This causes players to receive Influence faster than they receive Exp. There is also the fact that a lot of players skip the PvP element. And since all they are doing is farming Quests, they never have the items and experience they need to continue forward. And thus, when they are out of quests, and find themselves in a chapter they shouldnt be in, all they can do is suck and be dragged along by the higher lvl players.
Which in turn leads to the final problem. People are rerolling like crazy. But this is to be expected for a new game. I mean, everyone is trying to get their bearings, but its just rediculous when you cant find anyone in your lvl range anymore. Well they arent all gone, but there tend to not be enough competent players to get a hard PQ done anymore. You have to bark orders like mad to relatively dimwitted players to get a hard PQ done. But overall you have a problem in the fact that these people all think they are playing WoW. They expect their class, with the right stats, to just plow through a single enemy. Which is a problem since combat is rather slow in this game, and does not really support 1v1 very well. So you just cant do that.
Which in turn causes a lot of Flavor of the Day rerolls. These are people who got owned in some form of pvp by another class, repeatedly, and rerolled to play them. One of the first ones was healers. For any of you that may remember reading any of my past journals, you will hear my praises for a healers strength in low lvls. Well this is because of the reduced stats. DPS classes just cant do the damage yet to fully kill a light armor class yet. And healers for the most part, can heal through a lot of damage. And so, you see a ton of players all playing crappy healers. These are healers that dont heal others, and only heal themselves while focusing on doing damage. They think that by doing this, they can survive anything, and kill anyone. Which just doesnt work as you get into the higher lvl of PvP. And now, at lvl 12-21, DPS classes are tearing through these weak ass healers. (Think of paladins that start off wearing plate armor, and then move to cloth. And i mean this in terms of paladins from WoW. A class that was specifically known for its lack of healing team mates in favor if healing themselves so they could last longer and do more damage. Now, imagine that paladin getting to a higher lvl and forced to wear cloth armor instead of plate armor. Yah, it is just like that. Although, healers in this game, still have very good survivability due to their heals, so i doubt i will stop seeing that, any time soon.)
Which in turn, is causing a lot of players to create DPS classes. Im serious they come in waves like this. Its like a cycle or something. And due to a tank's lack of killling power in pvp, a lot of people are tossing their tank to the side, and rolling DPS. Which sucks for us healers as healing DPS sucks, but healing a tank is easy. And yes, tank does have a roll in PvP, a rather good roll to. But because they arent the ones hitting the high damage mark, people would rather not play them.
Im hoping, that as the game progresses, this will balance out and we will have a balance of the class types. Untill then, im going to have to suffer the fate of crappy players, with crappy gear, who are to low of a lvl.... and yet still somehow kick orders ass. OMG, i would not want to play order on my server right now. I bet our order population has gone to shit.
Oh well. Not like anyones going to read this. I only know of like 5-8 people who play this game.
Im hoping that in time people will actually PLAY this game, rather than farm it. (Not play as in buy, i mean play as in play instead of farm.) I swear, i get more of the feeling that people are just creating an alt for their WoW account, rather than playing warhammer. I bet they are getting their moneys worth by skipping all the content so they can, badly, lvl up their flavor of the moment char to the point they realize its not as awesome as they think, and then reroll.
In the meantime. Im enjoying this shaman. I like healing for the first time in an MMORPG, even if it can be difficult at times. And im probably over exaggerating a lot of this nonsense, but i just wanted to get it off my chest. Ive been grouping with some rather crappy players lately.
OMG and the gold spam, they keep banning them and they just keep coming. For gods sake people, stop buying gold.

While I eventually learned that pvping in combination with questing is the best way to gain experience, I dont always feel in the mood for pvp, especially if I've been losing alot. Thus I'll be more likely to get higher level with better gear before heading to scenarios, which means I'll be in areas too high for my level for that gear.
I must say I didn't know about the level of PQ's, I only knew theres that one freaking Troll in one PQ that two shot a Chosen. I hope that was a bug. LOL.
I rerolled a sorceress today, and found how much bloody it is to level and kill things in with a caster. (Seriously, three shotting a mob is love). But I find myself dying really easy in scenarios. I can hardly do anything once a melee character is on me. Granted this is low level scenarios. But you can see for this reason as well why people would rather grind influence than go into scenarios. It's just easier.
Finally, the renowned gear really sucks. They need to improve it.
Actually, i can understand that sentiment about not wanting to do Scen. But there are tons of item drops in scen, and scenarios are some of the best ways to get new loot.
Yep, they do come in lvls. The majority of the ones that are farmed are easy or sometimes normal. Any time i take a group of players from one of these farmed ones to a hard one, they always get one - two shotted because none of them know how to let a tank hold aggro, or are tanks that dont know or cant tank properly. I cant stand a lot of DPS players because of this.
Yah, ranged DPS classes do some awesome damage, but can be killed by melee dps rather easily. That is why tanks are so important in PvP. You may not notice it, but there are tons of choke points in most scen maps. Not to mention, most tanks are so huge, that if you dance around them, a melee dps will have a hard time chasing. And a lot of tanks have abilities to reduce the damage you take if you find a good tank who knows how to do his job. Not to mention, most detaunt abilities are damage reducing abilities. Dance around a good tank while detaunting the enemy and he wont be able to kill you nearly as quickly. While he is focused on you, the rest of your team should swarm this loner and kill him quickly since he has no proper support.
There is just one problem with what i describe, this requires your team to actually play as a team rather than an army of one.
I agree, the renown gear sucks untill lvl 32. Thankfully, items drop all the time in PvP.
When it comes down to it, these people will probably stop playing the game if they can't figure it out by lvl 25 or so. I noticed how a lot of people use pet classes in RvR even though they suck, which is a throwback to WoW PvP in which hunters and warlocks rape everything. The fact is, there are people in MMOs in general that just want to be the best or have some desire to get to endgame incredibly fast and that, unfortunately, won't change any time soon.
In any MMO finding a party or group has always been a bit of a toss-up unless you have a meticulous schedule with your friends that never gets altered. I bet there are other players your level who are decent, there are probably just more of the asinine kind.
Unfortunately, a lot of the people who are good tend to join guilds, and generally use these guilds to help them lvl and such.
Either way I hear you Vash, on WAR. The only advise I can give is to just keep at it... While you will never totally escape idiots, I believe it wanes somewhat as you get higher in level.
If it's anything like FFXI, the people that wanted to tank are already way past us. We just need to be tough and keep leveling.
(And I hate to be a part of why you dontl ike this game, but I switched back to WE. >< NOT BECAUSE OF DAMAGE, i just found ebing a tank too stressful and i didn't want that. I also really like sneaking :< Also Sky has moved to our server!)
-Gold sellers are everywhere, in every game. No matter what you do, they find work arounds and continue their nagging of the player base. They will never go away, as idiots will always buy from them, and then end up being hacked later or banned themselves for being caught.
-Idiots are everywhere, in every game. They'll find ways to bite you in the butt, and you'll always be left wondering how idiot x got to where he is.
If you have any lemme know maybe I can play with someone (unlikely, my highest is a 20 on praag, and gorfang is an 11)

P.S. I did read it all, even though I only play the tabletop. Lizardmen ftw
