So I found a couple of videos on YouTube breaking down scenes in MLP into the basics like key frames, and while most of what he does is in flash, they are really good starter point to breaking down animations to see how they work.

One of the scenes is the intro trot/bounce from Pinkie Pie's song "Smile, Smile, Smile."

so I followed along and reworked it to focus on a more canine version of it.
