I would go with the Kindle because they have so much items for it vs. the Samsung. The Samsung tablets don't have much items that go with it. I always prefer a tablet that has many items that you can easily buy at your store like power cords, cases, screen protections, etc.

Accessories and stuff usually aren't trouble for me, as I have to order stuff like that online anyway. But I honestly didn't think of that aspect. I'm mainly looking for browsing speed and charge time I think. Do you have a Kindle?

I don't have a Kindle, but I have seen a lot of people purchase a Kindle because they like the screen and it's not expensive either. It's simple to use as well.

I guess it would really depends on what you really are going to use it for. You say that you want it for browsing on the internet, but are you just going to visit art sites, check email, watch videos or whatnot? Are you possibly going to use it for anything else?

You should also browse the support that the tables have over each other, which apps they have and which tablet they use them most efficiently, be it for art or otherwise. For me, I am actually not a tablet person, most of what I need is in my smartphone and I don't tend to use it for more than simple article and art browsing, checking email and GPS if needed. I am thinking of going for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 when it comes out. Being a somewhat big guy, the series has the right size for my viewing pleasure while still being portable and powerful. Just my opinion on the devices.

Pretty much going to use it for internet browsing, and maybe a few apps. Nothing big really. I just don't like being restricted to my computer chair when I do anything computer related. I have a smartphone, but it's the first gen Evo... and browsing the internet on it can be extremely frustrating. (Slow loading, and a small screen - I don't have anything near delicate small hands so big screen is important)

I'm sort of bordering upgrading my phone to one of the newer ones with the big screens, but I was thinking of a tablet since for the same price as the upgrade I could get something bigger.

I found out they dont support .exe files.

So artists, cant use tje galaxy notes for sai, ect.

Good to know, thanks for the info! Figured that they would still have mobile restrictions, which thankfully I don't plan on using major art programs on, maybe just sketching down ideas to transfer over to my main computer.

Yup! Its cause those notes run off android system which is linux.

Youd need a samsung slate or other tablet pc. I almost made that mistake at best buy. But im looking for a travel tablet to take to work. Lol

I have a cheap Chinese made android tablet, running Ice Cream Sand witch just like the Samsung galaxy tab 2 series and I think the kindle fire HD runs it too. You should understand fundamentally whats inside a tablet before getting one. They have very significant strengths and weaknesses as compared to a PC. Basically, they are a big screen smartphone. Same internal hardware, same OS, just a bigger screen and battery, and no GSM modem. Any android tablet is going to be great at basic web browsing, listening to music, and watching youtube videos and what not. All tablets however, are terrible at doing actual work because touchscreens suck to type on, and can be imprecise for tasks intended for desktops. There are a few exceptions to this, but they are way out of your listed price range. Theres ones with keyboards, and you can a lot of the time add on a keyboard, and there's even the galaxy note series with built in wacom digitizers, but again, $$$. The processor inside the tablet matters, a lot. If I were buying one right now, I would go with the google nexus 7 since it has a very quick processor, and also a GPS receiver in case you want to use google maps in the car or something.

Actually, right now Barnes & Noble is clearing out the Nook HD tablets for $130. For a solid android tablet, probably hard to do better than that for the price.

When it comes to mobile type devices, I prefer "Pure Google" devices. I have a Nexus 4, 7, and 10 and I love them all. Though since I got the 4 and the 10 (I got the 7 when it was the only latest gen device), I don't really use the 7 anymore. Check Gamestop, I found that they've begun selling used tablets. Pawn America is also a decent source, though they tend to have less selection of newer devices it seems.

I probably watch as much YouTube on my 10 as I do on my computer, I love that thing. Plus, with the latest Humble Android Bundle, I now have Frozen Synapse on it.

Just got a 7in Galaxy courtesy of my wonderful husband  lirleni, and have to say its great, but a little outside of your budget, $169 at WalMart IIRC. That said, great alternative to toting a computer around, in fact its largely replaced my computer.
