This guy  mushymutt's mom was just diagnosed with aggressive skin cancer and he's trying his best to help her afford better treatment and find a small place where she can live closer to family. When your mom's dying of cancer, a strong show of communal solidarity and support can make all the difference in the world, showing people what kind of community we are and restoring faith in humanity. So, if you can, throw him whatever you feel like, even just a dollar adds up. There was a great quote I remember once that said "No single raindrop holds itself accountable for the flood". I like to keep that in mind.
