CO Poisoning.

I'm not too learned on this, but our house's CO monitor in the boiler room must of been not working, out of batteries or... something, cos our house was flooded with Carbon Monoxide. No one else was in, and I got back from going out to the mall, and I started feeling pretty dizzy after a while and needed some air, so I went outside, then my mom got back with my sister and she thought the same, but we just thought nothing of it, but my sister lost conciousness, and we felt dizzier and dizzier, so we rushed outside, and called an ambulance. and she's in the emergency room now, and me and my mom have had blood tests, that came back okay, but I'm worried about my sister :S
I was going to take a nap rather than go out... how dangerous is Carbon Monoxide poisoning anyway? Did I get really lucky?

well if the CO levels were high enough there is a high chance you would have. ;.; since its just like falling asleep, Its a good thing you're safe though.

You are very lucky, CO is an oxygen displacer, If you had gone to take a nap instead of going outside you most likely would not have survived.

My God, stop having life-threatening issues every damn day. It sounds like living in a cardboard box on the side of a highway would be an upgrade

It's dangerous, but only in really large amounts, as it would make you starved of oxygen. As long as it's actually identified and removed/you get out of it, you'd be fine. No long term effects.

Good, I'm glad there's no long term effects :S. I thought I was short of breath since then, but I guess I was just being a hypochondriac, hehe.

Yeah.. anything could have happened there if you didn't think to get out and call and ambulance. Good thing you did.
