:c
I'm sorry to hear that...
*hugs* I know from experience, fish can be very, very sensitive and delicate. It's tough to take care of them sometimes. I know you did your best, so you shouldn't beat yourself up over it.
I've had a talk with my dad, and I'm feeling better now.
orz I knew from the start that betta fish require more careful care than others, but I'm still sad to see him go. I really loved him.
*hugs* Glad to hear you're feeling better. And yeah, a betta is a tougher fish to take care of. The fact that you loved him so much only confirms my suspicions though! You're gonna be a wonderful owner to your next fish.
Are you going to try again with another betta, or are you going to try a different kind of fish?
I think it'll depend of two things.
1) that it'll be a kind of fish that will be happy in a tank that size
2) that I know he's the one when I see him.
That's what happened with Poisson. I wasn't even there to get a fish, but I kind of fell in love with him as soon as I saw him. Which surprised my friends, since there was a bright pink one right next to him.
What size is your tank? I would assume it's quite small if it just held one betta. It's important to know that, fish do NOT grow to the size of their tank, but putting them in one too small for them will poison them, stunt their growth and shorten their life. So yes, you want to be very careful when choosing your fish. c: the general rule is one inch of fish per gallon of water!
I hope you can find that perfect one for you. It'll be hard to replace Poisson, though, huh. <3
mhh I don't know the exact size, but the box stated it was a "betta tank" I got mine as a gift, so I don't have the box, though... If I remember right, it was one gallon.
; u; I won't replace him, though. I'll have a new one, but it won't be a replacement.
I'm so sorry to hear. I know how it can be. I was crushed when my favorite Bala Shark died. He was so sweet, would fallow your finger around the tank and nibble at it if you dipped it in the water.
