I see all of these people who have fursuits and they go to cons etc.
I know that some of them work, and some have a web store...But what about some of the other people I see? How does one get enough money to fly to places, and be at a con? And if they do have work, how do you get vacations? Or how the hell do you get permission so many times to take a break from work? Just to fly out to at least 4-5 cons a year!? :0
I feel like when I get my job, and fursuit, that I'm never going to be able to fly out to con's....

1) Are having friends make them suits, clinging to transport sharers, having someone vouch for their food and hotel costs.
2) Cashed in on their tax return and used/ are using it on furry cons and fursuits.
3) Paying their expense through credit cards.
4) They are living in the cheapest levels (in someone's garage) and paying only $100 a month while the rest of their money is going to other wasteful things....AKA, cons, fursuits, art.
I am able to attend the cons I go to because I stay local. I do not overspend, and I share costs: Hotel, food, etc.
I can afford to go to cons because I work and I save money.
Sorry for the random response....I am not watching you, but I went to leave a shout on your page and happen to notice this journal.
I hope to one day be able to experience cons like AC, RMFC, etc. But I have things like a job, and school that takes up the majority
Of my time. I also have to pay for groceries etc. And I can't drop everything just to go to a con.
The closest ones I have that I can go to would be the one in Seattle, and the new one in Portland.
Which I actually live there so its nice :D
That basically gives you the option of extending holidays, or taking a week or two off if you're too stressed. That COULD be a way for these people to have time for a couple conventions in an year...
My dad used to do that a lot on his last job, which was in another city very far from here, so that he could come visit us and spend some time with my mom, me and my sister.
Just don't worry too much about it right now. If you wanna go to a couple cons in an year, plan things in advance and save up your money.
