I went about 5 years with almost NO notice from this site at all... it wasn't until I started posting commissions that I started getting attention.

What I've learned... People are visual. They see with their eyes first. A character for example... THEN... they want to learn more about that character... so then they'll read about him or her. It just doesn't work the other way around.

My suggestion... Get a commission, doesn't have to be an expensive one, of your main character and post it with your story. Worked for me. They see the character and get sucked in. Then they want to learn more about that character... which is where your writing comes in.

Try it! See if it will work for you.

Okay, but I need a few suggestions. Do you know anyone that I can ask for a commission?

Of course! Check out the top of my page. I have a list of good artist that I have commissioned before.
My first recommendation would be  rehgan He's fast, not too pricy, easy to deal with, and great at helping to create new characters. He can draw just about anything.

Next would be  Marsonaut He's never drawn a mouse before, so he might do the sketch free for ya. And if you like it, he does a great coloring and shading job for about $30.

 Kael_tiger is another one. Color shaded, he only charges $25. But again, I don't think he's ever drawn a mouse before, so it'll be a learning curve for him. Good practice for him, and he will work HARD to get your character right.

Those are the available three I can think of. The rest are busy and not open and/or are MORE expensive.

I was even talking with  baraking last night... and well, don't be surprised if you get some sudden gift art. Would be of a sour looking brown mouse sitting on a park bench listening to music with ear buds and an mp3 player. Just saying.... by the way, if there's any other details I might have missed, clothes style and whatnots, lemme know.

...and no guarantees, Bara was busy working on another commission when I popped up the challenge of drawing a mouse character for the first time.
He's also a very inexpensive artist.
