Character design thoughts...

I'm starting to wonder what direction i should go in.
I'm tempted to give Kodran his full armor back, but if i do that, i'm worried that artists might find him too complicated to draw.
I'm also unsure of how far i should go with biological strangeness. There are tons of ideas i'm tempted to use, but i'm not too sure how well they would fit with him. By default, Kodran does have a few hidden 'maintenance access doors' hidden along his body. I've been playing with the idea of some of them having biological replacements for a chain block or crane to load things in, that may be somewhat tentacle-y.
If i wanted to have fun, there'd be tons of things i could add, but i don't want to do too much and make him too 'heavy' to play.
There's also the big question of, should Kodran actually have a gender or two, and if so, which. Obviously, considering that he wasn't naturally born, and that he's basically a military machine, those wouldn't be functional for reproduction. Those organs would have alternate purposes, likely vore-ish or somehow weaponized.
I might just play it safe and have him remain genderless tho.
I'm also a bit tempted to be silly and try things a bit on the macro side, since he's probably already big enough for that...
Going full sci-fi with energy shields and such is also tempting, but mostly because it could make for some very fun pictures for artists to go overboard in with special effects.
Oh, and if anyone has any questions, or suggestions, go ahead! Or well, if anyone would like to share a commission, i do need more art with Kodran in it. Not trying to get free art, 50/50 would be fair... I just don't want to spend that much on my own.
Keep in mind that Kodran isn't a monster tho!

heres some characters of mine: http://sta.sh/03dwtbiwma0 and http://shadrelpendragon.deviantart......aper-377434549
You can go with Bio-mechanical. Look up the Electra Dragon on Deviantart. really nice design.
I might just go totally randomly creative and do something that you couldn't even tell that it's one or the other 'traditional' ones tho.
I'm afraid to have people focus on that tho.
male herm is basically male with a penis and a vag allowing for preg and unbirth
Well I do agree with :icon:Pyroscale:/icon: about cock vore >.>
But I like your ideas, if you plan on getting Adult pictures of your sona.. I would suggest making him have a gender, I lean more twords male because well.. I'm Gay and you cant do cock vore with out male parts :p
and well your Sona made me think of a minor character in the Game Banjo-Kazooie >.> Bare with me here for a second... I dunno if you have ever played the game or know or anything of him.
His name is Clanker Here's his pic http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121106111738/rare/images/1/15/Clanker's_Cavern.jpg
I used to (and actually replaying it now on XBOX) play this game a lot because it was fun, but this character used to scare me a lot in the game despite him being a nice guy
i was actually reading about him on TVtropes, here's what it stated about him that I didn't realize as a kid as to why it scared me:
"Embodied by Clanker, the garbage compactor. He resembles a shark made of scrap metal, and at first glance he seems to be a robot. Then you enter him, and find out that his interior shows remnants of organic material, crudely patched together with mechanical parts. The implication here is that he had once been a living creature, and was later reconstructed into a (fully sentient) waste disposal system. It doesn't stop here, though. The longer you think about it, the more you notice how many things are wrong with Clanker's anatomy. It is impossible to tell if Clanker is a whale or a shark, since he has both gills and a blow-hole (with a metal bolt in it). His gills are directly connected to his stomach. His body is filled with sharp, rapidly moving metal objects. His spine is located in his front, rather than his back. Weird parasitic tentacle creatures are growing out of his flesh. The list can probably be continued even further. A promotional VHS distributed prior to the game's release shows a brief glimpse of a fully organic Clanker in place of the mechanical one. Assuming that most of the level design remained similar, this would mean that Gruntilda had a living, breathing shark...whale...thing chained to a giant anvil so that he couldn't surface...and that she was also using him as a garbage disposal."
I actually found that really amusing and think that is a wonderful idea for your sona as well since you said you wanted some Biological strangeness and could also explain Possible Vore ideas considering your Part organic as well as machine! Not saying you have to change your whole story around or mimic an idea taken from a game, just tossing some ideas around. I Love the idea though Just so you know >.> and if I have any extra cash floating around I'd love to get a pic together with you, but my sonas aren't very big, normal sized furs compared to yours
let me know on what you think, I'm curious!
So take that into consideration.
Not too sure i'd want different 'sets' of armor, but maybe that could become a story-thing, with various phases of upgrade... Going from just scrap metal crimped together to eventually something similar to the original armor.
