That's not good. We're not freaks, just strange people who dress up. The few other local furs I've met are not 'weird-o' furs with a few exceptions.
Personally, he needs to meet a few local furs before passing ignorant judgement that we're 'freaks'.

I've run into many people when I suit around local events that think it's weird and talk behind one's back. They don't want their kids coming near me like I'm the plague, even if the kids want to get closer and say 'hi' or give a hug/high-five. It's really for a kids when I suit. Teens as well as adults tend to be the really assholes...yet some kids can be too like tail-pullers and muzzle-grabbers.
The media has painted a target on us for being weird-o's when we're not and some people take what the media says as the full 'truth' without question. *shakes head* It's kinda sad, but the media can ruin a lot of things. Especially if they go after the dirty side of a subject over the honest truth of it.

It just hurts I love to meet furs and it takes a lot to suit up and go into public there are always that percentage of people who will glare and talk but there's the people who actually care and will treat you with respect. I just wish people would understand. especially my boyfriend he hates it, I bought a collar for my suit and he freaked out. My last boyfriend was so understanding about that he even offered to suit with me, I don't know why the furry fandom cannot be accepted we don't bite. It's just so saddening.

I know the feeling when I try and get others to suit with. I know people work and all, but still.
I hate those kids that don't treat suits with respect as well as some adults. What the heck? He freaked over a collar...really. That's just...I just don't know.
Agreed, I wish people were more understanding and open to it...but like I said, media influences all and ruins peoples minds.

He needs to learn to accept you for who you are and all the quirks about you! If he can't do that, well, I know you'll find someone better.
