I NEED ANSWERS.
I really want to sell my music guiz. Be HONEST. How many of you EVEN listen whole to my tracks? I will need all the help I can get.
*Several minutes later, one of my friends replied*
"*Attempt* to sell it on iTunes or maybe Bandcamp. Bandcamp has a "pay what you want" option where people who want your music can, well, pay what they want. One of my friends, Sithu Aye, had a guy pay $200 for his album cause he liked what Sithu was doing. Another way would be to put clips or songs on Soundcloud and then share them with several different online communities or outlets that are in to your type of music. Lastly, if you really think you have something and wanna go somewhere, send samples to Record Labels. They usually require that you have at least SOME local recogniton, but you never know, man."
Y'Know what, I'mma create a BandCamp now.
And yes, he is totally right.
Look for me!!
FA+

Bandcamp mainly
then CreateSpace for Amazon US
if you want to go further and have pop-stuff or more mainstream stuff go to RecordJet or TuneCore as distribution partners.
THEN create a webpage (in blog form, many people like that), a facebook page, a myspace-page as artist where you can put your music on.
THEN I would suggest you using Rdio and get people to listen to your stuff.
You could join a few forums but I myself don't do that cuz......uhm... well it can drift to the point where you only make posts like "out now!" "out now!" "out now!" and have trouble getting into details
I myself go steps further and even make videos for my songs, I try to highly present them and get in touch with Internet and real Radio stuff to turn up interest.
And yea well PIANOLISKO is known in Chemnitz and whenever I do some "promo"-tour in my fursuit there is a camera with me and the recordings are used as covers or in music videos then, hehe...
hmm...well the problem in the worlds capitalism is that the more money you yourself have or the more help you have from people with money, the easier it will get to get your music known.
But fighting against the huge lobbyism is really difficult, but I won't give up....NEVER - I will keep on producing up to 8 hours of music in a year or more, hehe
Don't loose YOUR spirit and good luck, you might have lots more success than me, my sales are still 0 XD
I just made a Breaks/Trance track just now, Tell me what you think. http://darkstyleproductions014.band.....nce-cloud-rave
Although personally not 100% in that direction I like listening to.
One hint: I would suggest not telling people what programs you work with, they will quickly worthen down your work.
you could take a look at this:

As another person said, soundcloud is a great way of publicising your music, you can voluntarily disable downloads on there and put a "buy" link straight to your bandcamp. You can also join and submit to groups on there too.
Yeah that guy is pretty much spot on.
