Well, the end of an era... my dusty PS3 gave up the ghost, it appears. When I tried to power it up to see about updating it to play Last of Us - all I got was random pixels then corrupted graphics. Tried resetting it, rebuilding the database, resetting the graphics... nothing helps. Just got told it will cost me $130 plus tax to get Sony to repair it, and you know what? I have used it maybe a dozen times for games - so I don't think its worth me repairing it. I don't know anyone on the Playstation Network, so I guess I won't be purchasing a new one (considering the PS4 is just around the corner), and won't be buying a PS4 either if this is a sign of the kind of quality I can expect.

Bummer.
