Looks like the DSi will have regional lock out. Boo! One of the things that made the DS so great was that you knew you could import games and they would play with no worries. It was an awesome free for all orgy of games from every corner of the earth all on your DS. Everyone was welcome and no one was turned away. I know I love it. But those days will be over with the DSi. Yup, now everyone has to go home any play only with in their own yards. Suck.
Why is Nintendo doing this? Because of the new extended WiFi functions of the DSi they're locking it out so they can tailor the WiFi download abilities for each content. Just like they've done with the Wii. It makes sense why they're doing it, but I still don't like it and makes me kind of not want want one. Now I really have to think about this. I'm sure that with the SD slot someone will make a hack program that will allow you to play other region games. Just look at the PSP and all the hacks it has.
Hmmm... how about you? Still interested in a DSi?

But I agree, it would be cool if they would/could ^_^
Microsoft makes the embedded OS on Nintendo hardware? I just assumed Nintendo used Linux like Sony does. (I can't say "Everyone else" because the Dreamcast had Windows CE.)
Anyway, I don't see how Microsoft would be able to sue Nintendo anyway if they put a keyboard on the DSi and made it into a quasi-tablet PC. Microsoft's Zune isn't exactly an original concept.
More then likely I feel it probably comes down to they paid millions of dollars to MS for the OS and now they want to make the most use of it they can. Still, my main concern is that every time they release a new console/handheld it seems to always fall behind the times even though they make up for it with interesting games. In my mind the DS was just barely enough of a jump from the Gameboy Advanced that I felt it was worth it. The new one just seems like the DS with extra stuff thrown on.

Thanks ^_^ I'm talkin with one of the developer guys tomarrow about my idea, My dads awesome!!! So you never know, I may have just sparked the next new revamp system
He doesnt even know why, probably some idiot like they guy who renamed the "revolution" to the Wii DX
In the long run I am really unintrested in this system and it just sounds worse with each update :/ If they were going to cut this much stuff out of the DS they could have at least put more good stuff in it.
