So yeah, my PC got a virus by accident. Microsoft pulled some crap with "we'll fix that for you with our program...but you have to pay 50$ that you don't have!"

So, I'm trying to find a free method of removing it. Adaware didn't get all of the infection, Spybot won't even launch, and McAfee didn't find anything, either.

The microsoft xp antivirus scanner DID however, show me the filepaths and titles of most of the infections...is it safe for me to manually delete them?

Also, any good *free* antiviral/spyware/etc programs anyone can recommend?
