My Pacific Rim Movie Review
Last night i watched the Pacific Rim movie and it was awesome. I loved the action, the story and or once i actually cared about the human element in this movie. Unlike Michael Bay's Transformer movies, in Pacific Rim the human characters were actually likeable! (even the ones that weren't but I'll get to that) I would have given this movie a 10 out of 10 if not for one problem i have with this movie.
"Chuck Hansen". Chuck Hansen is one of the main four pilots of the Jaegers and he is an egotistical asshole especially towards the main character. Chuck's personality has made me asked a question about movies in general. Why is there always a jerk in a story? I know that in spite his attitude, he really does care about saving humanity just like everyone else but his antagonism towards Raleigh just makes him an insufferable prick. What i liked about this movie was how humanity joined forces and would put aside petty differences in order to work together.
Spoilers
You know as much as i dislike Chuck, i kinda wanted him to be alive in this movie (Instead of sacrificing himself along with the Sergent). Again, i was able to care about the human characters, despite some of them being unlikeable.
It was a great ride from start to finish, but i wish we could see more Jaegers in this movie.

If I recall, I think there's a comic that took place in the early years of the Kaiju attacks.
