Mm you may want to aim for $200 in order to have some fallback money. In case you have an accidental mite outbreak or so, plus food costs and an extra bag of whatever substrate you choose to use. Gotta plan ahead haha.

Good luck with the beardie though, if I had the funds I'd help out with the commissioning and all. Use to have a pair of hyper orange dragons myself, they're great and easy pets!

Ah, I've got $200 already. I've rounded up in case of things being more expensive and whatnot. Anything AFTERWARDS, my gramma will help me out with, it's just for now. The bearded dragon is $56 where I live, and I'm going to use paper towels for substrate until it's at least five or six months to be safe. The reason for it being up at $140 is indeed food costs + repcal and whatnot, as well as a log and a hide n' stuff. ovo

Also, I don't get the obsession with the bright colored dragons? I mean, sure they're pretty, but I'm just in love with the dark dark black and grey ones.

They never sold any dark ones around where I got mine (a reputable breeder, not a pet place y'know?). They focused on the brighter ones, leucistic and yellows and hyper oranges etc. They did that with a lot of their reptiles @_@ I prefer the darker ones myself.

the darker ones look. I dunno. cooler???? like sure the markings on the bright ones are awesome but the dark ones just really remind me of a dragon *u* i like dragons

Make sure that if the beardie is under 6months old you DO NOT put it on sand! After 6 months put it on calcium sand!
