Future of Fursuiting

*Commissions are now offered through journals! Keep a lookout for them!*
|| Trello| TOS |Business HRS/Schedule || So, if you've kept up with the little snippits of updates I put up, most of you know I'm making my fursuit by hand X3 I've taken pictures of my progress, even ones for future tutorials (like how to paint resin 3D eyes and how to create digitigrade legs). I've done about 4 months of research of every kind of amazing fursuiter out there, fur, tutorials, and etc. before I've EVEN ORDERED ANYTHING. But now it is coming down to the wire, my fur should be here Thursday and mostly my partial and possibly my whole suit will be finished next week. Yes, NEXT WEEK XD. RMFC is next week, but I also have a bunch of time, so all the handsewing that is yet to come will pay off big time.
Now, there have been some people asking me if I've considered starting to do fursuit commissions, and my answer is: It is a big possibility, and it's about 80% yes.
Only thing however: Because I'm an artist and also a struggling, starving student that is trying to make it through college without fizzling out entirely. I will most likely only be able to take up 2-4 suits per YEAR. I have also already started thinking how to half payments and what is fair yada yada yada. I've concluded half suits would most likely be from $500-$800, while fullsuits will be from $900-$1200, all depending on complexity. Smaller stuff I have yet to figure out...
I think the prices are fair, and gives me enough money to buy materials and fur (because I don't just have fur lying around... unless you want me to shave my cats XDDDD) but the profits are also to keep me alive at school and well... just alive in general.
I'm a natural sculptor and I'm extremely visual, and pay very close attention to detail. This suit has already become so good, I can't believe how good it is. It is just looking awesome and beautiful. Plus, I have some experience with sewing, enough to where I know how to sew it but not what the stitch is called XD. But anyways, yes it is a BIG possibility I will take up fursuit commissions.
For the customer, all they would have to do is make either a fullbody duct tape dummy or just parts (it's really really easy, trust me, I've done it). They would ship it in a small box and I blow it up with packing peanuts or whatever stuffing I have lying around and that's how I'll be able to work with you without you being physically with me. If I'm making a partial, fullsuit, or just paws for you, I require an old (or new) slip-on type of shoe that is in good enough condition, something you'll be willing to get messed with hot glue and such, and is comfortable enough for you to walk around in. This way, you do NOT have to duct tape your feet for your dummy. It also ensures I have the right foot size for you because knowing how I am, my feet change sizes due to the brand of shoe, I'm literally a size 5 to size 8, it's quite ridiculous XD.
Only thing is I HATE shipping things. I don't know why, but I do. Probably because I don't have a car and hate taking trips to the post office. x.x But I get over it, so don't worry lol.
I will be getting stuff for heads, noses, eyes, pawpads, and whatnot from
. Fur will be from Mendels because of how soft it is.
Don't take this as an announcement of me taking on fursuit commissions just yet, it is still unofficial, this is more informative and I'm open to input from you guys ^^

That sounds like a fair price to me, especially if the suit is coming out as nice as you say it is. I hope you can open up for these, and make a little money this way. I also can't wait to see your fursuit as well. ^^

I could give you rides to the post office, if you let me help/teach me the ways of the fursuit. *throws himself on the floor* MAKE ME YOUR PADAWAN, MASTER!
