Question for Discussion: Ritual

It must be emphasized that:
We are not an official Church of Satan group. We are not here on behalf of the Church of Satan. We are not a "Satanic Community."
We are a group on FurAffinity that are made up of individuals who follow the Church of Satan and the works of Anton LaVey. Let's talk about ritual/Greater Magic.
*Do you ritualize? If so, why? If not, why?
*How often do you ritualize?
*What form or kind of ritual do you tend to perform, when you do ritualize?
*What does your ritual chamber look like--what elements did you include, and what aesthetic style did you employ? Why did you choose the elements and aesthetic style you did?
*How do you understand ritual overall? How does it "work?" What is it supposed to accomplish? What is it good for? What isn't it good for?
*How do you intellectually decompress prior to a ritual? How do you re-enter the world after a ritual?
*What personalized elements, if any, have you chosen to include in your rituals, to make them more personally relevant or meaningful to you?

*Which demons, mythological figures, or deities, if any, do you prefer to petition or reference in your rituals? Why do those demons, deities, or mythological figures appeal to you?

Yes, because it helps to kill emotions and get what I want (usually).

Not often. Three or four in the several years I've been a Satanist.
*What form or kind of ritual do you tend to perform, when you do ritualize?
I've done lust and destruction.

I don't have an actual chamber. My bedroom is what I've used. Wear blacks, darken the room, light the candles, and utilize all my inverted pentagram and baphomet pendents. Kinda stereotyped, but it helps set the mood.
*How do you understand ritual overall? How does it "work?" What is it supposed to accomplish? What is it good for? What isn't it good for?
I see ritual as being a release of energy and emotion, which if utilized properly can go out into the world and do whatever it is I want it to do. Other times a ritual is just to kill the overwhelming emotion and energy pent up in me for whatever reason. I love doing rituals because afterwards I feel such a rush at getting everything out, and I become much more focused on my life instead of dwelling on other things.
It's not good for various stupid bs...like the Satanic Bible says...being a nasty guy and doing a lust ritual to get a young woman, or being an average person trying to score a movie star isn't going to work. Likewise, if you throw out a destruction ritual to someone who doesn't deserve it or your reasons are petty, you're wasting your time.

Never took note of what I do before hand...after I give myself some time and just go back into the world afterwards. *shrug*

I don't think I have anything personalized aside from excluding a few concepts for rituals like the bell and chalice.

Loki, Coyote, Emma-o are three I can think of off the top of my head. It is the history and actions of the beings that appeals to me most. I tend to research them before I call them in rituals so I know the perfect ones to call. Other times I just call to whoever feels 'right' at the time.

My first lust ritual. Was with a guy I was crushing over pretty bad and didn't get the hint that I was coming onto him. We had an awkward moment before, but it didn't turn into anything. The night I did the ritual, he called me and told me he couldn't stop thinking about me. You should know where this is going. In the end, it was just a one night stand thing, but what's done is done and I got what I wanted at the time.
My first destruction ritual and my first ritual. Was 19, living with annoying dormmates. Did a destruction ritual for one. Everything in her life started to go downhill. Got really sick, kicked off cheerleading squad, had relationship troubles. Freaked me out because it started working in about a week. After that school year, never saw her again, which is just as good, but her suffering in the meantime was priceless.

Alone, because my goals are set for myself and not a group thing. Wouldn't mind a massive Black Mass though.
