Can someone explain Livestreaming to me?

Okay, this is quite newb of me, I'm sorry, but apparently like everyone Livestreams now. I'm interested in this! I never really thought about it before, but as I am starting an exciting new career of FULLTIME FREELANCE WTF, I will actually be able to stream!
So I'm curious about what you guys like to watch? I've noticed a bunch of people take streaming commissions? How does that work? Or do people just like to watch an artist draw things that aren't commissioned based? Also, is there a way to make money off Livestream itself?
Anyway, thank you in advance. I ask you guys because you're always the smartest and most lovely :^)

Those who take coms in stream usually do like sketches. When you say people post refs then you either go first come first serve or pick characters you like. As far as i know there's no way to make income off livestream...but that'd be something to look through the terms of the streaming service area more then anything.
The most vital thing about streaming...you got to enjoy it. If you're down in the dumps that mood affects the people watching you.
Conveniently too, you can save recordings of your stream to your computer so you can upload or edit them later for playback.
Step 2: Set up a channel. Be sure to mark it as "Adult" if you plan to draw porn.
Step 3: Download and install Procaster.
Step 4: Run Procaster, set up your stream. Adjust quality settings, choose audio and video input.
Step 5: Hit the big red shiny button to start streaming.
Step 6: Tell your fans that you're streaming.
Step 7: Profit!
The immediacy of being able to confirm details on a commission do make stream-coms very appealing though some artists take them as a wing-it quick pace kind and of course its always good to point out that they send refs and details by note or e-mail whichever is more usual.
Worth noting too that one of the ways to keep an eye on your livestream chatbox is to pop it out into its own window and stash it on the side.
The chat room also makes for some good dialogue, I've found.
