I've given up on SAI.
I can't seem to find a way around the fact that SAI is a 32 bit program and will not use more than 4GB no matter what I do.
So, I'm shopping for a new program. Sketchbook Pro won't work because it has limitations that are even more restricting. GIMP is just generally a very unpleasant program to work with, and Adobe doesn't even actually sell software anymore. Corel Painter X3 is looking like the best solution, even with a price tag of almost $500. I'm gonna try the 30 day trial and see how I like it. I don't want to spend that kind of money, but if it works it'll pay itself off in no time, and I really do need software that works. :c
These are dark times we live in. Very dark times. Business expenses have been exceptionally high this year.

Adobe has disabled the activation server for CS2 products, including Acrobat 7, because of a technical issue. These products were released more than seven years ago, do not run on many modern operating systems, and are no longer supported.
Adobe strongly advises against running unsupported and outdated software. The serial numbers provided as a part of the download may only be used by customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products.
try this
It has I think, an infinite canvas and the tools are really great.
They used to be more like traditional media but they changed some of that.
Still good though
It's not really a lack of money, I have the money to buy Corel Painter if I really decide I want it, I've just been trying to minimize my business expenses and I've had a lot of necessary computer hardware upgrades and my accountant is starting to give me a dirty look when I hand her my expense receipts. Ahaha~
I use a combination of SAI and PSE.
I haven't had time to properly try it out but it seems good, the free version works well and paid is cheap 29euro.
Bonus, it works as a replacement for OC1.1.
- With the free version you can joint the site above and share a canvas [but anything you draw is autouploaded to the public gallery and you then have to hide it if you don't want it there.... dunno the rules about age ratings.]
- With the paid version you can truely host your own just like in OC1.1

I WILL TRY THE FUCK OUT OF THIS.
Heh, looks like Jaja know their audience http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/01.....ja-13.jpg?1227
I only have a cheap stylus with a soft rubber tip right now as it didn't come with any.
The jaja looks like this cheaper one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adonit-Jot-.....im_computers_4 might have to get that as I doubt mine will work with a pressure sensitive pen anyway [it was pretty cheap.]
So I might end up using Kawaii Desu Mochi Mochi Manga Studio 5 after all.
THE SKETCHES IN MISCHIEF WERE DELICIOUS THOUGH, MIGHTY CHRIST.
I've yet to try both programs tbh.
Thanks though! I'll look into it!

It's meant to be easy-to-use as Sai, has a lot of photoshop's facilities such as customisable brushes (frenden's brush pack v2 is used by industry pros though costs a couple quid), and the EX version, while more expensive, has great facilities for making comics and multi-page documents plus some other stuff.
I ordered the regular version for £50 plus international delivery, which is 80 USD I think. The EX version is about 300 USD. The regular version also has some tools useful for comics, but it's illustration functionality is all there.
Basically it's ease of use, customisability, extra functionality, great lineart (the early versions were exclusively for inking) all rolled into one and stops you from having to resort to using multiple programs for one pic like some people have to. And unlike photoshop, it's made with illustration in mind rather than solely image manipulation with drawing as an afterthought.
Since performance has been your issue lately, I think MS5 would be helpful. I mean it does support multiple-page projects so it can't be very low.
I recently ordered my copy from the website and it's gonna be a long while before it arrives, but d'you want me to let you know how it is? o:
This sounds like a really REALLY legit option for me, man. THANK YOU. I will see if there is a trial version and TEST IT FOR GLORY.
Maybe give it a try?

SAI is renown mostly for inking.
I suggest to try illust-studio too. :D

I believe that someone has made an English patch. :P
I haven't used it yet, but I heard from my friends that the program is really good though.
