Yeah I've heard about this. I've got a friend who works for the Black Library and he said it was a bit hush hush at the moment. He said it was an Ultramarines story but didn't say anything about the opposition forces. He did speculate that they might make it about the assault on Black Reach though, so it could tie into the game and the novel.

They did. Several years ago an independant CGI firm, I forget it's name. Was going to make a movie of the Bloodquest trilogy. It's been on perminent Hiatus for a long while now. Pity as they were even asking for volounteers for photo referance for some of the cultists etcetera at one point.

It was Exile-Films that was developing it. I remember the animation for it and the intro for the first Dawn of War game was of a far FAR superior standard. To be honest I think the new intro/trailer for DoW 2 looks too cartoony, compaired to the last one.

The movie was based off of the Blood Quest graphic novel (I think it was going to be the prequal to it), here's the trailer link:

Hehe. Yeah, thats the one I saw. Though, i only saw the space shots, which didnt look too bad. Some of the models for the individual units are dire though xD

Oddly enough, that looks kinda like the covers they do for the Horus Heresy books.. which allways struck me as.. well.. kinda bad. Allways found it odd that BL gave such an important series such... well... sub par cover art.

Though the new Mechanicus cover looks good.

I remember Game Day several years ago, I forgot which year exactly, showing demos of it. Aaaaah, good times....I got my Tau forces there too! It was the year they first released the Tau.

Ugh... Space Marines... They can do SO well if they deliver the story right but they just seem so 'alien' to be the good guys. They need to use the Imperial Guard if they want to connect with a wider audience.
