So today I voted in the Canadian election.
Looking at the US election vs the Canadian one it's crazy to see the differences. The biggest is that the Canadian elections will never be as sensational as the US ones. Our elections can be called at the drop of a hat and parties only have 36 days to campaign. There's no big count down years ahead of time. No huge build up to the final election. It's just straight and simple, go put your "X" on a card and drop it in a box.
How did I vote? Well, I find it hard to make a decision because you're voting on the parties ideals and what they hope to have changed, but chances are those changes will never come about (unless it's a majority government... boo!). But if you don't vote, then you can't say anything about what the government does. You decided not to have an opinion so when the government decides to make absurd laws, you can't say anything because you opted not to have a voice. At least you could put your vote in to another lesser party to take votes away from who you don't want to get in.
Anyway. Yeah, I rocked the vote. It's a good thing to do. It'll help to shape the country.
Looks like we're going to have another Conservative Minority government.

Have you ever argued with someone and it went like this:
Me :"........and so you see these 5 reports and 2 expert opinions support my standing and furthermore you have been unable to prove or even show your reasoning for your stand point. How do you respond to this overwhelming evidence. "
Him/Her: " You're _______ , that makes me right."
Everyone Else:*Woots and cheers for his comment.*
Then he seamingly wins. Until something goes wrong then I have to fix it, and then get chidded about being a show-off, smart-elic, etc.
This is politics in a nut shell. You can lose the war after winning all the battles.
I try to remain as neutral and adaptible as I can. And as for big elections, I'll trade you yours for mine.
But, that's just my politically cynical outlook on life. Just stating my opinions, not trying to start anything. Voting is, after all, about making your opinion known. I simply refuse to vote in a situation where I believe there are no potentially favorable outcomes. My way of ineffectually flipping the establishment the bird, before the door is shut and the lights are out.
Additionally, I think I have about as much right to decide who rules my neighbor as they have to decide who rules me. Zero. So, after a fashion, voting for any candidate would compromise my moral integrity.
Please, try not to confuse my statements as an implication that you are compromising your moral integrity by voting. You have never accepted my code of ethics, after all, and cannot compromise morals which you have never agreed to uphold.
If you are offended in any way by my beliefs, I apologize for offending you, but I cannot apologize for my beliefs, nor can I accept forgiveness on their behalf.
By the way, I'm from the US, so don't take this as an attack on Canadian politics.
(FA Political discussions are SERIOUS BUSINESS)
It's all about choosing the lesser of two evils over here...
-We have to improve the bandwith for the net! That will cost xxx million Hungarian Forint. Tehn we must pay xxx million Hungarian Forint for the improvemenet of the ...and so on and so on! No false talk just clear stuff. I could understand every word of him. Was the best 1 hour I saw in tv in politics. Saddly He isn't a politician anymore...Guess He was too honest, too understandable, and too demanding on the cash! I miss him! He was the Sanity Personalized - And the sharks got him! :P
As for the voting: I go over every year, because i got a saying, but i don't care if my candidate wins or loose. This will be a bit dirty so furries with weak stomach skipp this: The next wining party cannot make money out of thin air: Or we cannot make gold from sh!t. Yep. Something like that goes around every 4 year by us! Best excuse ever, 'cause every party says it after wining.
And yep, i hate politics too.
